Originals - Your Quickest Sale

Which of your original non-commissioned paintings has sold the quickest? (Post one image only, thanks).

This small canvas, 'Butterfly Family Tree' unexpectedly sold within half an hour of me taking it out in public for its very first airing earlier during this week. I had only intended using it as a prop to show the type of work I do, when I gave a very short talk at a meeting for self-employed business people. I painted it last week (as a demo).

This one sold before it was finished. I have a habit of posting "in progress" pictures on FB, and it is super helpful for creating interest in a piece! I've sold many through FB, people watch a piece progress and they want to snatch it up as soon as it is finished, but this one, I had only laid out the foundation and a client loved the color so much she bought it up in the beginning stages.

I've had many over the years, Karen....especially when I was repped by a gallery that was regularly picking up finished paintings.
In most recent years,
this one was not finished...I described it to the client, sent a WIP and the money was in my paypal account before the last brush stroke was put in place.
I use this image for fine art cards on the High Holy Days....

Selling WIP pieces before completion, yes, that's the way I hope to go as well... Thanks for posting these Gretchen, Marlene & Lisa - they're lovely!

I have just started showing Work In Progress on FB, and getting friends, family and followers to suggest titles for the new work. They seem to enjoy the challenge.

This one sold before I was done painting it. I was posting WIP photos on my fb page and got a private message from one of my followers asking if it was available for sale. At the time I was about half way finished with the piece. I gave him a price and he snapped it up. Photography Prints

I had many quick sale, some I didn't even had time to take photos, some were sold as soon I post them on the Facebook, flickr and were sold but one sale was most unusual:
an out of town client called and ask me to sent her all my white flower paintings. i asked if she wanted to see them first ( she doesn't use computer) and she say no because she knew my works. I sent her eight paintings thinking she could choose from them but she sent me a check for the full amount before she even received the paintings. She brought all eight!

Here is one of the eight,

This Original piece was bought while still a Work in Progress that I posted on my FB timeline.
The buyer is a regular collector of my works. He PM me and told me to make delivery in his office and he would deposit payment on my bank acct.
I was surprised since the said piece was still not yet painted, thus I told him that I was about to paint it. But he told me to deliver it as it is.
Oh well "customer's are always right" so I made delivery. And not only that he also bought 2 more artworks...Yes also unpainted. When it rains it pours!
Just happy for the sales of the 3artworks. Actually that said buyer already bought 2 of my pieces plus this 3 latest a total of 5artworks sold to a single client/buyer. Just another satisfied customer.

This one I posted on facebook and was contacted the very next day, hadn't even got it to the gallery. Met the lady in a car park and did the sale. Felt like some shady Arthur Daley deal.....

Library art show: Two different library staff members offered to buy a painting of coral colored roses, within hours of hanging. Image not posted in my profile, this is from before I was on Fine Art America...

The only image I *might* have of it is a phone snapshot my husband took -- with reflections in the glass -- I have no idea whether we still have that image or it got deleted.
