I'd prefer a set of speedlights and transmitters.

Hadn't messed with any lighting really oh since...college in the early 80's!! That's too long ago for me to have a working opinion on what is good or not. I do love the small size. Finally found the pricing on some. I didn't think that was too bad.

Well considering it's only a few dimmable LEDS you're paying a lot for (a) a mount (b) styling and obviously (c) the kudos name on the kit. Meanwhile small dimmable LED flashlights can be bought for a few bucks. For a few more some work lights even have stands. However, it's probably not a fair comparison, I know and it's still a good find, so thank you, Melissa!

True, but many of the cheaper LED lights vary greatly in color temperature. Not all LED's put off the correct temperature range. In fact, many of the cheaper LED lights are way off in terms of temperature if you are trying to balance with other light sources.

I have often used cheaper LED lights with good results, but there is something to be said about spending the extra money and getting quality lighting that is correctly calibrated for the correct temps.
