Well, That Was Weird.

Saw a woman riding a bicycle in a light blue bathrobe and slippers pass my house this morning. I rubbed my eyes, and yep, she was still there, not only that, she came back from the other direction a few minutes later. It was fairly humorous to witness. :) I live on a semi-busy collector street, so there were definitely other people seeing her on their way to work, I'm sure making for good water cooler discussion.

Ken Krug,

Many many years ago my mother in her car and me in mine were going back up to my parents old house.
We got the top of our road, me first, I took the right turn to go down the hill to the house. There
was a guy with a really crazy cheesy grin on his face riding a bike about to get hit by traffic. He was wearing a helmet.
Mom was right in behind me making that right turn. We both nearly killed him on his bike.

We got into mom's driveway and got out of our cars and compared notes. We were very concerned about
the retarded guy going out into massively busy rush hour traffic with his helmet on. Well a moment later the guy went
whirling by our driveway.

It turned out to be a neighbor no one could stand was the guy in the helmet. He was a corporate tax attorney.

Dave....I kid you not.....

Family. :)

Dave, Kip, lol, I was going to say also maybe they're related.
I have seen here in the neighborhood, one or two people "walking" their dogs
while riding their bikes.
One person had a recumbent bike I used to see occasionally, but haven't seen him in a while.

Both good ideas, the dog can get a good run, but they both have a bit of a crazy look,
(not the people or dogs, although the recumbent guy might've looked a little eccentric)
the recumbent bike more on the bizarre side.
You don't see many of them around. It may have been the only one I've seen.

Yes, I'm ok, I think. :)

Marlene, I've seen the pictures, there's many slideshows on the net and I always wonder where the people in the photos are employed. Like, who would hire a 50 year old man wearing a blond wig with fake breasts and sporting a high rising pair of Daisy Dukes??

Marlene Burns

@John,
who says he's employed? lol
Walmart seems to be the place to explore own's inner whatevers...

I have to admit, I was there one day, looked down and realized I had my slippers on...I called Honey in a panic and he gently reminded me to look around and relax....oddly, i fit right in!
I now carry a spare pair of flip flops in my car!

You sure she isn't delivering papers?

John Wills

Yep I'm sure, I just found it it's the "crazy lady" from across the street. Doesn't every street have one of those?? lol

Marlene you nut. :)

Sydne Archambault

What street could be without them! Does she have Alzheimer's?

John Wills

That would be sad if she does, she only looked to be about 55 years old. Have to say she was peddling away without a care in the world and looked quite content.

Could have been a mom trying to catch the school bus to give her child what ever the item they forgot that day is lol. After a wile you just don't care anymore. Around here driving to our local school can get you stuck in rush hour traffic it is totally worth it to me to make a fool out of myself to spare me the trouble lol

It is very possible she does. It is a very sad disease. Hopefully she is just going through menopause and forgot to get dressed.

John, in Shanghai, China it is considers fashionable to go out at night dress in their pajamas ( some are in fancy silk ones) to walk around or getting a bite to eat in their neighborhood.

This thread thought me to change my avatar to everyday look. This is me most current. I have two photos out. one is formal, and this one is more casual. This is little bit dark. I might have to change to old one. BTW I was wearing this hat and long down coat and red pocka dot pajama to local grocery store. So I could be one on my street.
It's America. No one cares. I love this lady.

I remember the 70-something woman I was behind years ago in line at the local IGA grocery store. She was wearing a halter top with a bra so the back of the white bra and the straps were clearly visible. Curlers in her hair. Not aging well. Quite a few sags and wrinkles.

Some things you wish you could just "unsee" LOL.

Robert Kernodle

Maybe she was just out for a bike ride for some physical activity. Simple as that. She feels comfortable in HER neighborhood ... no need to dress up ... just dash out the door and hit the pedals ... hump a few hills to get the heart rate up ... head back home ... shower ... and back to knitting.

Sydne Archambault

LOL! Robert!!!

Yeah, I just can't seem to get past that knitting thing. It has poisoned my mind. HELP ME !
