Deliquescence
Is that too complicated? It basically means thawing. This horse I painted has an icy feel to it.
It will be paired with this one in the catalog.
My painting has quite a dull name as it is right now and I'm putting it in a catalog that will be distributed to art collectors and want a better name for it. Something that tells a story would be good. Like Cool Morning Breeze. It also can be like a race horse name. Have any ideas? I need to have a name soon.

Things that are going through my head:
Blue Ice
Icy Resolve
Resolute Blue...now that might be a good one.

if it can't be spelled easily, or translated to another language, it may be too much.
blue ice sounds like the stuff that drops off of airplanes
and icy resolve sounds negative

I know. That's why I'm struggling. I can only think of negative words for some reason. Resolute means determined. That's positive.

I'm with Mike on spelling... I do like the Cool Morning Breeze name. How about something WET for the Andalusian Stallion. The horse mane looks wet to me. "Freedom in the Rain"? "Rain without Reins"? "Wet and Wild" will probably compete with Spring Break scenes that have no association to fine art. And I see no problem with "Ice Horse". Good luck!

Oh, hello, Carlin. We were posting at the same time.
Rain without Reins makes me think of untethered...Untethered Rain? Blue Rain?

Winter Gate
Cool to trot
Heavenly Gate
Cold Triumph
Whatever you name it will be fine. The work is exceptional and will stand on that alone.

Hello, Phyllis. Thank you for you input and your lovely compliment. I like the word Triumph. Horses should have strong names, I think. Blue Triumph? Triumphant Resolve? That word is still stuck in my head, lol
...Perhaps, Winter's Gate? Or Winter's Gait?

Now, I'm thinking of the song with the words "Who left the gate open"...haha...well, that one does sound a lot like a race horse name.

Your painting puts me instantly in mind of the Michael Martin Murphy song from the late 60's called " Wildfire ",that would warm it up,beautiful painting and a beautiful song.

I'm not that great at spelling either, Phyllis, lol.
I love that song, Michael. I'm definitely going to use Wildfire on one of my horses. Thank you for reminding me of that awesome song.
Liking what you've got so far, folks. Very helpful to get my brain unstuck.
edit: Just listened to that song and it does fit, Michael. Her pony got lost in a blizzard on a cold winter's night.

Now, this is what's storming in my brain:
Winter's Gate
At Winter's Gate
A Cold Winter's Night...may be the wrong coloring for this title, but the title goes with the other one's title.
Untethered Rain
Resolute Sun
Resolute Blue
Sunny Rain
Winter's Sun
After the Rain
Wildfire
Wildfire And Ice
Fire And Ice...it's used a lot though
Edit: Nice ones, Mary Ellen

I would stay with Resolute Blue...this is going to art collectors who can probably spell, plus they won't need to spell it ever really. Also, I think it is unique like the painting and an andalusian stallion deserves a regal name. The fact it's an 'andalusian' is also a turn on for horse lovers too.
So, if it's not too long...'Resolute Blue Andalusian Stallion'
Sharing the image later on social media will also not require anyone to spell it, we all just click anyway!

All these titles give a cool meaning. I thought you were looking for warm titles. :p
May I suggest something that gives a moving, dynamic meaning like
Running beauty
Water beauty
Magic horse
Mountain breeze
Morning stroll
Summer walk
When I look at it, I get a very dynamic feel, especially the second image.

I would not use any title with the words, "Ice" and "Horse" together in the same title, because this would be way too easy for somebody to demean the painting by calling it a "horse's ice".
Crystal Stallion
That's all I got.

Funny, Robert. I looked up racehorse names and wow are they horrible: http://www.wordlab.com/archives/racehorse-names-list/
Just heard this phrase on the tv:
Out Of The Blue
That would be a great racehorse name.
Looked up Spanish names:
Amador - means lover
Andalusian Amador
You guys are giving lots of good words that are helpful. I asked my daughter to help and she said, You're over thinking it. That's probably true.
Nirdesha, I guess I don't see blue as cool in this case. It's a warm blue. Maybe a good name would be a play on cool and warm.

Mane attraction.....
correct me if I am wrong...but I just looked at this in your portfolio. You already have 685 tweets, and more social media links. If you change the name...do you not lose all these links?

Illusionist should be the name since many viewers will see many things. You told me it had an icy feel but I see something different.

Karen, the change was just for the catalog. I am going back and forth about whether or not to change the name here for that reason. It has been pinned a lot and I've sold a print of it here. All these names will not go to waste if I decide to keep the name as is. All the name suggestions have been great and I can see them being used for other paintings in the future.
Warm Ice
Solar Storm
Illusionist
Like those. I'm planning on submitting today and so far, although there are many great titles, I've not been able to decide. I'm probably going to keep the name as is to keep things simple.
You all have helped me see this painting from different perspectives and that is a good thing. Thank you for all your input. I had fun reading them and will use some of your ideas in the future. Titles are hard to come up with sometimes and I think the reason why this one is hard because there wasn't a story to go with it. I usually have a story with my pieces.

Nice work, Jani.
For the Andalusian, it looks to be a wonderful portrayal of a horse in the rain. "Trotting forward" comes to mind, (positive) but I personally don't like the use of words like "cold" "ice" "storm."
