what would we get out of it? being that we are all trying to sell our own art, and this site is a place where you can sell it, i can't really imagine someone doing it just because.

I did not posted this announcement to create controversies, it is just a way to seek collaborators. My announcement does not force anyone to anything. Everyone is free to respond or to ignore. Each person decides for herself. Thank you

i'm not saying it does force anyone to do anything, but still there would be no gain pushing another artists work when we are doing the same.

Mario, you have some nice stuff. I used to do these kinds of things but I am retired now so not really interested.

I am assuming you are going to be offering some sort of a commission based incentive. If I was still in the business, I would bulk on the opportunity because of your current price structure. I do no mean to tell you how to run your business but the prices, imho, are too low. I am talking about your originals not the print prices. I didn't look at them at all.

I worked on a minimum of a 50% commission and your prices are simply not high enough to allow for the profits to cover associated costs. You need to think in terms of having low prices and then having to pay higher commissions or higher prices and paying lower commissions. Either way you get there, the margins percentage wise or money wise have to cover all of the associated costs and leave a decent profit for both of us.

That is just my opinion. For what it is worth.

This may not be the perfect venue to be looking for a dealer/agent/gallery representation but I don't see any harm in trying. I do know there are a number of people in here that have talked about their galleries and one person that was actually looking for artist's work to sell. Maybe they will stop buy.

Best of luck to you.

I have mentioned it before that some artists find a marketing partner and they take each other's work to art shows. There is a lot of benefits to doing this.

To make it work you make sure you find a partner that does not sell the same kind of work. You have a reciprocal commission agreement and if you strike out on your own work then maybe you get lucky and sell some of your partner's work you at least make something. At the same time you may not sell a thing but you partner does well in the show they are at that same weekend.

That may not be what you are looking for Mario but one never knows unless they ask. There may be someone in here that may be interested.

Floyd,

You are proving the arts are full of nice honest helpful decent guys with sales experience.

I need to get further into that MIT post grad class in marketing. I studied pricing first.
I changed almost all of my print prices here to a 9 at the end and took off the cents to round out
a point 00.

I have been applying with a local museum here for an exhibit. Why not?

Thank you very much Floyd. I appreciate all your comments and suggestions. Even if I paint for many years, I did it only for passion without making a business out of it, because I have always developed other activities and crafts. A few months ago I decided to dedicate myself to painting and sculpture, another passion of mine, and I started to publish my works.
So, I am a beginner in this business and I try different solutions to achieve results. Therefore, I am always open to new suggestions.

Mario, art is not unlike other business which start small and locally. Find someone in your immediate circle like friends, family members who like your works to promote and sell them for you first. Once your works are known, agents and galleries would come to you, then you can take the "world'

Mario,

I am studying marketing per Floyd's advice. The marketing notes or lecture notes here are easy to read and use.

Could you explain more what you mean by 'collaborators', please? I don't understand what you are looking for?

We're artists here, not artists' agents.
