Better Colourized?

Hello,

I need your point of view. Is it better colourized?
It's not about "Is it well done enough to publish a colourized version", This is the first time I colourize a black&white old photo. But as a general remark, is it better with the coat and the handbag colourized?

This is about this one:
Art Prints

Thank you,
Vincent.

I like what you're doing here, but I think I'd prefer to see the face and hands colourised as well - just my opinion!

Thank you Jane.
Yes I think so Jane and tried but the skin colour is not easy to get. I have to try again. ;)

the problem with the image is - its not worth restoring. the image itself is too badly damaged and her face isn't in focus. coloring only her clothes makes it look odd, like she's a ghost. the skin should have color as well. but it depends on the look your going for. if your going for what they would do then, then a faint layer of color is better. if your going for a color image look, then everything should be colored.

skin colors are light peaches, often the easiest way to get the color is to find an image on google and use that as your color palette.

All or nothing !
I am not sure if all is the better solution.

I know the image is badly damaged but for me it gives charm to the picture.

I did the skin colour, unfortunately it looks more cartoon than realistic:

I would like her to look more like a ghost.

I think it's not enough "light peaches" like you say. But anyway I prefer the colourized version.

I think You have no chance with the face - too less 'information' in it.

Rudi, yes I think so. No information, no shades.

Good concept but the finished image must be to your liking,,,,following the suggestions of others does not make it Vincent's work.
