This was taken last year on a beach trip to Seaside, FL! I am happy and excited to be going again in about a week. Looking forward to seeing the beauties just waiting to be photographed!

This was a scene that I witnessed the morning after hurricane Issac hit the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Naturally, I had to paint it! The Gulf was still foamy and just calming down enough to get out and take a walk.

For those thinking of vacationing in Hawaii.

This was taken a couple summers ago. The sun was shining on the ocean water and lit it up! I wanted to take a different aproach at displaying the beauty of the beach. Seeing this fence, I crouched behind it, got this photo, and ran after my family, who was starting to get impatient with me stopping all the time. ;) Since then, this has become one of my signature works!

Okay so my beach themed image is a little different ;)

This 12 x 24 inch oil painting is one in a series depicting moments in the lives of those who have enjoyed the sublime joy of walking long, deserted stretch of the seashore with a loved one. Low tide was chosen for the patterns of the diminishing waves as they roll forward on the wet sands and for the reflections of the sky and figures in the water. The long format was used to help capture the vastness of the sea.

This last fall at Ormond Beach by the Sea - beautiful beach, beautiful sky, and beautiful water here in Florida

I am into tides.

Several years ago while on vacation visiting the island of Captiva I had the lucky discovery of this sand castle built on the beach. A few children milled about the sandcastle; building it up and adding some finishing touches to it.



Saw these two friends relaxing on the beach a few months ago and converted the photograph to look more like a pastel painting to fit the relaxed mood.



A few months ago I took a trip down to the Art Deco district of South Beach Miami to take some photographs of the iconic lifeguard stations (but many were being re-painted in preparation for the 100 year anniv.). Even thought did not get many I did manage to get some great shots.



This is a section of one of the iconic art deco lifeguard stations. The city workers were busy putting on a fresh coat of paint I saw that the steps and the beach would make a good composition. I knew that there was a sailboat out on the water but did not notice that I also captured a parasailer in the shot until later when I reviewed them fullscreen.

This was also taken last year at Seaside. I really loved the calm waves in the background mingled with the contrast of the red and blue umbrella!

The Baths Beach on Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands. HUGE granite boulders form tunnels, caves and private tropical swimming coves. Paradise!

The first painting done in acrylics I painted just recently and wishing I could be on the beach with flowers! The second one is from our vacation last December for our 30th anniversary on St. Pete's Beach Florida

Yesterday was extremely hot here in Florida, to hot to work outside, so I gave myself the day off to go to the beach and take some photos, this is one of those photos. The sign on the pavilion reads "No Animals Allowed" those seagulls lined up on the roof are no animals.

Photographs taken on a deserted white sand beach on the island of Aruba located in the Caribbean. The shelter is made from palm leaves and gives just enough shade to enjoy a day at the beach.

A frozen moment in time captured,full of the most important symbolism for me....
