Painting On Wood Pannels And Using The Wood As Background

Being a furniture designer I like to Incorporated the natural wood grains. Is there anyone else doing that.

I messed around with mahogany panels a while back...like you I love wood. I found it very hard to do...unsealed the paint tended to bleed ...sealed the paint would run ...never got the hang of it....looks like you did!

Thanks, being a furniture designer and a sculpture I now the in and out of the wood and it characteristics.
It really ads another dimension bringing reality to fantasy.

Hey Garry it's so good to see another woodworker. I made furniture for 40 years and now I am spending my time making wood collages. I love wood textures, colors and grains. Good luck with your work.

Gary, you have some beautiful work. I personally have not painted on board for many years, as I like the bouncy quality of brush on canvas. You have brought your work to another dimension. I do/have used the white of the canvas as one of my colors. It can make for some goo highlights in hair for example. Or contours in fabric.
