Just Gotta Say....

Sales may not what I'd like them to be........but....

Life sure is good. I may not be rolling in the $$$.....but....

I'm upright, have my senses about me, and have all that I need.
Another glorious day is presented for me to make the most that I can....

Cheers everyone!

The older I get, the more I'm grateful for each day. There are so many blessings in my life that have nothing to do with money or possessions.

Amen, Michel!
In recent years, when I say "have a good day," I really mean it!
Especially to those who are hell bent on not having one!!

I can't agree with you, Brian, but Michel definitely has a great attitude!

Yes he does Christine. I like that because attitude seems to rub off on those who are around it. So... it's best that you're around a GREAT attitude!

I'm with you Brian. I figure that if I don't have to wipe dirt out of my eyes when I wake up, it's already a good day.

This sort of post could only thrive on the energies of older people (i.e., over, say, 40)

I cannot imagine a twelve year old having a thought even remotely close to the one in this thread.

What would the equivalent twelve-year-old's thread be?... maybe something along these lines:

JUST GOTTA SAY ... school may not be out today, but life is sure good, because I just got ten more friends on Facebook. and my new version of "Assassin's Creed" that my parents ordered from Amazon got here today.

Robert,

If I am not mistaken, and correct me if I'm wrong, Michel has gone through quite an ordeal for the past several years regarding his health. You might want to backtrack a bit from your baloney... and think it through before you post. There's a backdrop to this. Not the place for criticism. Even if I'm not catching the picture, what's wrong with a little cheer being spread about? What the hell is wrong with people?

I'm with you Michel. God Bless You man.

My comment stands, Glenn M.

There is nothing that screams callous insensitivity in it. I was merely making a comparison, using my ... "baloney", as you call it.

We all have ordeals, and we live through them by having a sense of humor too. I have had an ordeal, so I am perfectly in tune to Michael's comment, with which I whole heartedly agree, ... but you jumped right on me, before I could make a second reply to state this.

Sorry you think that what I type here is "baloney". Do you prefer mustard or mayo on your baloney sandwiches?

You know Robert, this is not a piece of art that you are criticizing. It's a human being. Perhaps you're about changing the direction of the conversation. And I was supposed to know that you were going to follow up with another reply?

We all go through many troubles. I just see no justification for those comments. Even for the comments regarding folks over 40!

Take your stand. I'll stand on my reaction to your comment. They hit me wrong.

I'll take my leave...

Michel Soucy

lol!

My post was not directed at a 12 year old, it was directed at those *who can relate*. For those who feel differently....what the hey...it's a free country.

Robert...I got grateful at the tender age of 27 and stayed that way right till the present (the ripe old age of 59) nor was I shy to state that fact...even at that "young age".
Gratitude is a different thing for everyone, based upon one's personal experience(s) and circumstances.
My statement(s) was and is irrelevant to ones' age....it was simply a fact *for me*.

I'll speak for myself here...sometimes I can get so caught up with *stuff* that I need to take the time to recall where I was 42 years ago, 32 years ago, and recently again 3 years ago where life suddenly took an unexpected turn with my wife.

What others think or say about it has absolutely no bearing or impact on my life, rather, it's about what *I think*, and my actions that will make all of the difference. This is not debatable....it is simple fact. I also don't expect a 12 year old to understand this, only those who *have been there*.

I'm very mindful of those who may have lost their homes, or even lives during the recent tornadoes in parts of the states. It reminds me that I'm not the only one that life tosses a curve ball to.

As my honey often tells me, "Life is often like that....you'll just have to suck it up Buttercup". If she can have that attitude in spite of what SHE has gone through, I have nothing to complain about and tons to be grateful for.

Cheers everyone, and thanks for your friendship, even though many of you I have yet to meet (you know who you are).

Are you kidding! That is the only way to live your life. Everyday is new and a blessing from God no matter how old you are.

"I cannot imagine a twelve year old having a thought even remotely close to the one in this thread."

I cannot imagine a twelve year old having much of anything at all to say that I would want to use as my life compass. And the sooner they learn that, the better off they are going to be and the more they are going to enjoy life.

I have a 12 year old and he didn't want to go to school on this Monday after spring break! I reminded him that he didn't have to go. I reminded him that he could stay home with me and I will home school him. So life quickly became very good for him also and off to school he went happily!

I could wish every day above dirt (and I am an ashes to ashes guy) is a good one - unfortunately - it's not. It's been worse and it may get better and there may be better days ahead - I will certainly be on the lookout for them. The older "I" get - the less I care about being in the here and now - and I'm most certainly looking forward to whatever comes after.

Roy,

It's often the looking forward to the better days that have helped me through the not so good ones.
Here's hoping those better days come sooner rather than later for you....

One thing I've noticed over all these years is that no matter how bad the rough patch is, it ALWAYS gets better. I'm not saying that whatever is wrong will eventually get fixed because sometimes it stays broken but regardless, we get past the hard stuff and feel good about life again. Knowing that, I don't let things get to me like I did when I was young. That way the "feeling better again" part happens a whole lot sooner and I don't waste precious time being bummed about stuff I can't fix.

And speaking of death, LOL, whenever there's a chance to do something fun but I'm trying to talk myself out of it for a variety of sensible reasons, I remind myself that I'm gonna be dead a long time. Works like a charm, and off I go.

Michel Soucy

Nice to see a good positive take on life....

When people ask me how I am I usually respond with outstanding. That seems to surprise people but the reality is even on a bad day I am still alive and kicking and tomorrow is a new day so I still view the day as outstanding.

Good timing, Michel...I'm presenting a talk on levels of pleasure this evening to a group of adults who I lead in prayer.
There are 5 levels, according to the ancient text I am citing...the LOWEST being material and physical comfort....
creatvity is way up there, second highest....we artists are lucky indeed!
