we are not an appraising service. more than that, without even an image included, there isn't any way at all to help you. there is a vast different between a flamingo and a hero btw. bring it to an appraiser..

Thanks for your curt reply

At the very least, you could take a picture and do a reverse Google image search.

Hi, although curt, I am afraid Mike is quite correct. Nobody here can help appraise images but we may be able to help know who did them if you can add an image to your top post, although normally the odds are slim that the person can be found online

I found a web site for a W.H. Green but the computer I am currently on won't let me view any images there. First link on the Google search. Not sure this is the same guy. An image search brings up a birds in flight painting.

Hi Lesley,
If you have photos, it would be nice to see them. It *is* harder to figure out whether this is a painting someone recognizes without an image to look at.

Mike's curt reply is a response to the large number of people who ask us if we know anything about their mystery paintings... sometimes there is someone here who knows a little, other times not. What people often want to know, after all the dust is settled, is if the painting is valuable, and ... for that we don't have an answer.

Most of the people on this discussion forum are photographers / digital artists. There are some painters - but we create our own art, we're not necessarily very knowledgeable about other artists' work. I don't see much in the way of gallery owners, curators, or appraisers participating in the discussions here.

I do know the paintings are over 100 yr old they were my grans and then my late fathers so no I would not sell them. They are family heirlooms

i'm not being rude. you have no image.

a flamingo is pink
a heron is gray
an egret is white.

there is a difference. without even the image it could be none of those birds. in any case, even if we told you its worth a million buckaroonies, it could just be a copy. that's why you have to bring it to a service.

EDIT
sorry but without pictures there isn't a thing we can do.
