Anyone Else On Wanelo?

Huge affiliate site that strips your affiliate links and adds its own. (Or so I am led to believe)

Is it like tsu?

Idk I'm not on tsu, but seems all the kids are using Wanelo these days.

Even marcino.com has wanelo share buttons on their site.

Thanks for the link. Must admit that I have never heard of it, and nor have my teenage kids. Will take a look, but if it's another members only pyramid like tsu then probably not.

I noticed the kids are equally into Pinterest who are into Wanelo.

Wanelo uses and at least to some degree depends on Pinterest Pins.

Wanelo is better than most of the Pinterest wannabees. They do exist and probably will remain.

Addition there are dozens of these wannabee sites.

I looked at the site but I don't understand how it works. It said that in order to sign up to sell I would have to give them 10%. How does that work with a POD?

According to the young woman I asked about it, the search is better than Pinterest's.

Search on Pinterest is to bogged down in stuff. But Wanelo has a couple of advantages,
although newness I think is the primary advantage, not bogged down.

As I said it is related somehow to Pinterest and works with Pins. Maybe that is the only relation.

There was some other similar site I looked into, but the office was closed. The complaints on
the net were mounting. Late orders, no orders....office closed. These things are often fly by night.

Wanelo. Want Need Love. 

Why aren't we discussing this social media site? On another POD I went from making about 50 bucks a month to over 1K in less than 6 months and the only change was promoting to Wanelo. Wanelo is so BIG for this other site that they did away with the Google + button and replaced it with a Wanelo button.

But looks like me and my other account (William Patrick Photo) are the not only the top 2 contributors, we are one of the few. 

Traffic = sales 

I do not care if no one ever cross promotes my work on these social media sites. It's more important that we ALL use these sites and bring traffic to FAA. We all help each other in this way. 

Why does FAA need a "like" AND a "love" button? That's redundant and a waste of opportunity. Why not get rid of the "love' button or "like" and add a Wanelo button? That brings in traffic...the little heart or thumbs up does not. 

It really isn't a popularity contest...its about traffic.

What is this 'all the kids' nonsense? I am a high school art teacher in the city of San Francisco and none of my kids use it.
I had never heard of it before this thread and I am a Pinterest junkie.

I've been reading about it more and more on a couple of Facebook POD forums...seems to be the latest greatest social medium.

Is there any way to actually track sales on WANELO?

I joined it a couple of years ago and uploaded some pictures although I found it very difficult to arrange stuff on it so I haven't done a thing with it.

Yes Dave, you have it all over there on the "wrong" coast. Well nearly all. I do kind of enjoy my 74 degree T-Times in January, February and March with out fighting off gators, misquotes the size of crows and humidity you can drown in trying to breath the air. :-)

However we are equal in one regard.

I very often call Los Angeles the armpit of the world. I think it would be safe to say if LA is the left armpit of the country, New Yooork, would be the right arm pit. lol

Oh and you are right about the water. The decision makers here are not anywhere near a solution and they are blind to just how serious the problme really is.

Just looked at it again. I guess I'm not an approved store but if they click on my image it takes them to my website where they can buy. I would never know if anyone found me from there.

FAA yep, FB yep, P yep, but not the AW.

I need to take down links to Twitter etc from my AW.

That's correct, David. All your external links should push traffic back to your AW site, Wanelo included. That was my point earlier. You should not "advertise" that you are on any other site other than AW otherwise you are sending traffic away from the place you want them to go.. You advertise AW on all other sites. (I think we're saying the same thing)

For those planning on joining there are themes you can use for your store,,,They have paid or free themes, I would post the link but I "happened into it when exploring...Then when I went back to search for the themes I could not find it,,,not even in the search" field, If you are joining you should check out that option beforehand ,,,Just fyi

Ann, The comment box below the image can be used for tags using hashtags, I realized after several downloads.

Ume you are confusing opening an account with having a store. FAA and you AW are already approved. You can post links from here. If you want to open your own store that would be off topic for an FAA site, so that's not we are talking about or doing. Just decide which site you want to post from and make some collections. Its that easy.

OK, so our Artist websites are already approved. What are the steps that need to be taken to "post links from here"
Am I the only person that is reading not so subtle vagueness in many of these post? If I search WaNeLo I clearly read instructions that you must submit an application to have your store approved. If that is not necessarily the case and this alternative can be bypassed because we use an FAA site to print/frame our work...exactly what does a person do?

BTW, doing some research reading reviews posted by WaNeLo users and there seems to be plenty of issues. Enough to throw up a red flag.

Ok I guess I am still confused, but I started to add products. If a buyer buys one of my products from Wanelo where do I receive my payment, through them or FAA?

@Darice, you probably already know this, but any of your items posted from your AW site using your custom domain name are not allowing click thru's for purchase; get that message about a non approved store, blocking customers from your site. But if you use your generic url for AW it WILL approve you. Mine worked that way, anyways.

I can't use the function to move items from one collection to another on my laptop. The dialog box is too big. Is there a solution to that that anyone has found? I'm giving it a go to see if I can drive some traffic to my site. Thanks!

I have posted some items on Wanelo but now I am seeing we should be using hashtags? Has anyone been using hashtags? Still new to the Wanelo site....

I am seeing a lot of artists comment on their on postings in Wanelo, does anyone know if this is beneficial?
