I just added ten paintings for prints, pillows, phone covers and note cards. It all went through I suppose. I have no idea what to do next. I tried to call but I can't get through.
My question, do they fill the orders from customers and ship directly to them? Do we receive an email when someone purchases? I'm confused because I see that people are ordering their own because they have orders? Just trying to figure things out.
Is this a really decent site to be selling? After reading a few of the posts, I'm wondering if I should go through with this.
Is everyone selling from this site also? Your experience and opinion is very appreciated. Thank you.

Welcome, Irene! I see that you didn't add any prices to your images? Edit photos and put in your prices for print sizes, cards and pillows.
This site takes care of everything when you make a sale you are notified and the site does all the rest.

These are way too small to sell! I don't know if you scanned them or photographed them but always upload the largest size files!
I have deleted the images because you have.

It'salways a good idea to do research before signing up for anything. This should be a good start --

Also, Behind the Scenes tells you a lot of information as well. Hover over your name in the upper right hand corner of the page, then click "Behind the Scenes."

FAA/Pixels is a fulfillment site. You provide the art and the prices. You promote yourself out in the world. People come, see your stuff, decide to buy and FAA/Pixels takes care of the fulfillment.
For a percentage of the transaction FAA/Pixels handles:
- image hosting
- transaction processing
- printing/framing/matting etc
- shipping
- money back guarantee
Everyone who has prices here is "offering" their work for sale. Actually selling is another matter based on how well the artist promotes their work and if the buying public wants what the artist is selling.

Jessica is right about the sizes. Some of your stuff is barely 300 pixels at it's largest. They need to be more in the realm of 3000 pixels like this one --'
However, and I feel bad mentioning this, this looks blurry and might not print. You want to put your best foot forward on for sell sights. The old cliche is true: you get one shot to make a first impression.

this is a fine site to sell in, i sell most of the time, months will vary, you have to advertise yourself.
as pointed out, many of these are too small to print
this one is too blurry to print, you should be scanning these in. you have to add prices if you want to sell things, you need more keywords.
if your going to sign your name, do it in paint, or use smaller letters, they may not print this because you used a font and its rather large. this is not that sharp either.
so you'll need to scan these, once you have a large enough print, you'll need to add prices - no prices, nothing will sell. advertise your work to get people here. people then will order the work, if it's printable it goes through, if its not your told about it, and you have to fix it within 3 days. if you can't, the order fails.
they handle the money, shipping and returns. your job is to get people here and have clear work. you should add a bio and an avatar.

If you have not done already, please take our tour http://fineartamerica.com/tourfineartamerica/introduction.html ( http://pixels.com/tourfineartamerica/introduction.html for Pixels users) as that will answer most questions you may have about the site
Then read our Terms of Use http://fineartamerica.com/termsofuse.html ( http://pixels.com/termsofuse.html for Pixels users)to make sure you understand what we require of you and what you may require of us ;)
You will need PayPal to receive payments and the images will need to be of printable quality before you upload
They need to be under 25mb and jpg or png. Adobe RGB or sRGB Images should be over 800 pixels but there is no maximum size. If the images are over 25mb then you can shrink the image down slightly or compress down to 10. Never upload enlarged images (that is making the pixels more than you have normally) as we will probably not pass it in QC if you sell.
All members should read this thread http://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=432109 ( http://pixels.com/showmessages.php?messageid=432109 for Pixels users)
Please note that we do not do ANY quality control unless you get an order, so you must make sure the images are top quality before uploading. You do this by 'VIEW'ing the work in your editor at 100% and going over it completely looking for blurriness or blockiness.
If you wish to test the quality of the prints you may buy your own work at base cost
When logged in you are seeing the prices you would pay if you wanted to buy your own work so do not panic if they are lower than you have put in :)
Basically, all you really need to do is decide what YOU want to earn and then put that in the spaces provided
When registered and logged in, on the top right menu there is a drop down with everything you need for the site
BEHIND THE SCENES is for all the tools you need to set the site up and PROFILE is where your site is.

I have been in FAA as a free member for a while and recently joined as a member and uploaded some more artwork. I would appreciate comments from my fellow artists on that much debated resolution topic because I scan my work. I would appreciate any comment...even negatives. Thanks.

Alfred;
Read up on some of the links Isabella posted to get your work seen by prospective buyers. You've been here way too long to only have 1100 views! I like your work, especially this one --
but look at your pricing. I think it's really, really low. Get an avatar. The default FAA avatar screams half hearted.
Another thing, you're not that involved on FAA. You're in I think two grouips, you haven't faved any other art and you're not following many (any? I forget) people. I like to think of FAA as two ways -- a place to sell your art and my photos but also a social media site. The more you interact with other people here, the more people will see your art. It's but one way to get a few views and to get your name out there.
I'll give an example. A visitor asked me I had shot a certain train engine when I was at the North Carolina Transportation Museum. For some reason, I had not, but I knew a guy who did from seeing his shots on here. I was able to put the two of them together and hopefully he bought a shot of it. Rubbing elbows can work.

Thank you for all your replies.
I went back in and took all my pictures out and went back in and put them in, at least the first one that you said was blurry and that they are all too small. I don't know what happened but they didn't look blurry from my end, and I put back the picture in and it said that I could choose all the sizes for my pixels, which they listed at 3629 X 2903. This is all new for me so very frustrating to set up, but I'm not going to give up, it's just going to take some time to figure out. What I don't understand it is why on the set up it doesnt show the canvas print or metal print so I can have that in place. I hope this all works. Any more ideas or recommendations please send them to me. I'm going thru the links that was emailed to me from the group and I'm going to work at it now, study and hopefully continue successfully.
Also, is it better so set up a gallery versus image for viewers?
Thanks!
Irene

you do not appear in our search properly unless you add a headshot. It then takes 24 hours so get it up ASAP

Irene;
Please don't give up. This is a neat place to sell and the forums can be helpful. But I'm not seeing any uploads right now for you. In time as you get more images up, it's usually better to go to Gallery View.

Thank you Joseph,
I have been non active for a long time. I started loading my images for sale in the last ten days. I have done nothing to promote myself because before the work was not for sale. Thank you for your comment.

Irene, I don't see any pictures in your profile page.now. Not all of them were too small. You dont have to delete your pictures, you can just replace them with larger files. Under the picture click edit
When you are uploading a larger file: 3629 X 2903 you will see different boxes where you fill in prices for all the available sizes for prints and cards.

irene make sure your looking at your images at a 100% on your monitor - not a phone if that's what your using. don't just fill the screen, zoom in tight. the clarity should look like real life - canvas, brush marks, etc.

Thank you.
I'm tired but I will get thru this. I realized I didn't sign the pics. I will do this tomorrow and have the photographer take pics again. Then I will put the new ones in. Thank you Jessica, Lady, Joseph, Alfred& Mike. I appreciate your support.
I am still having a hard time with directions on how to add pics, etc and how to navigate. I seem to get stuck where I can't figure out the next step. I have never seen such a difficult program. Maybe it's just me. Thx again. Thank god for tomorrow's.

I see you got your prices up! That's an improvement, Irene! There is a learning curve when you join this site, but give it time.
