Need Help With Pricing.

I am new to FAA. I uploaded my images and set default prices. Then I clicked on the images to view. On the bottom right of that page there is a pdf link that when clicked brings you to a price sheet for different sizes of the images as a Stretched Canvas, Fine Arts Print and Greeting Cards. For some reason my prices for the Stretched Canvas for the 10.00" x 6.63" and the 12.00" x 8.00" are exactly the same. The as the sizes go up the prices go up. That also is happening for the first for sizes under the Fine Arts Print section. After the first 4 sizes the price starts to go up. I have adjusted the default prices and then directly on the photo edit page but the prices stay the same regardless if I change to higher price values. Can someone please help me with this?
Thank You!

Set defaults, THEN upload.
To change prices to already uploading images, click the button NEXT to the default button - bulk edit prices.

But anyways, you are looking at them logged in. Log out and you will see them as the customer sees them.

This is I think #3 on the FAQ page. Recommended reading for all newbs.

defaults are for new stuff. bulk edit is for old stuff. you have to add in your prices. if you set the first few the same prices - they are the same prices.

That is what confuses me. I did not set the first few the same prices. They are all have different prices. Heather, I just logged out and then pulled myself out. It does show the prices correctly on the pdf price sheet when I did it that way. Strange that it doesn't when I am logged on. I hope I have my account right now. Thank you all for your help.

i'm showing different prices.

btw, you'll want to clean the noise in the sky, they have strict rules about noise here, and they won't print it, if it sells.

Sell Art Online
this one has rainbow noise

Sell Art Online
this has so much noise that it creates a pattern.

Sell Art Online
also too noisy

Photography Prints
this has some serious blocky issues. if it was meant to be like that, they may say something anyway.

Art Prints
also noisy

the shell is over sharp, but they will probably print it.

Julie,

Welcome! You probably should know that you shouldn't sharpen or over sharpen images for upload. And I think that what we are seeing may be that. Unless you are shooting, ALL the time at high ISO's, you're probably sharpening the image and then uploading it.

I would also suggest that you shoot your images in RAW and then in Adobe Camera RAW, sharpen there slightly and then skip sharpening later, since the printer will sharpen to size, if your image is sold,

Nice stuff, just watch that over editing,

Rich

Do you know the Noloboffs?

Thank you Rich and Mike. I really appreciate your tips and help. I do shoot in RAW but will need to make the other adjustments that you both suggest. All very helpful. I do not know the Noloboffs? What is that?

If you've been there for a while, then you would have run into the Noloboffs, both artists and have lived there for many years. Used to own a B&B there..............nice people,

So let me get this straight..If you change your prices with bulk edit , the new prices will go into effect within 24 hours.. and if you change default prices it has nothing to do with images already uploaded? So you change bulk and it takes 24 hours for all that is uploaded to change?

They've been in a few shows now and have done well. He makes fine furniture and she does stained glass and now they have combined the two! I tried getting into the Plum Gallery, but didn't make it. But I heard that the Artist's Co-Op thing is pretty good and has good shows and turn outs and SALES!

Default pricing is for future uploads. I've never used Bulk Edit.

bulk edit is immediate. but the prices may not list right in the search because it's 24 hours.

Hi. I am new here and not sure if I am doing something wrong or just don't understand how FAA sets the total price for a print. Can someone here set me straight?

8.00" x 5.25" my markup is 24.36. $24.36 + $5.00 = $29.36 + $9.61 = $38.97

Why is my 8.00" x 5.25" print showing a price of $35.68? according to the above formula it should be $38.97.

When I display the price details for 8.00" x 5.25" it shows:

Print: Le Barrage des Erables by Dale Ramsay - 8.00" x 5.25" - $35.50

Material: Luster Photo Paper - $9.14

Total: $44.64

Thanks.

Dale,

When I first open your image, I see $37.00,then when I click on the image, to get different prices/sizes, I see this,

$36.92
$49.10
$61.28
$79.46
$102.51 and so on..............is this wrong?

Ask for tech support to look and see if something is wrong on their side or yours,

Dale,

When you are logged in you are not supposed to see the full price.

When you logout you see the full price.
