I will start with Kevin Callahan, Kevin has been on the site for a very long time and I have always been impressed by the originality of his art as well as his insightful comments which he frequently contributes to these threads. Next I will list Jean Poivre, Jean is fairly recent to FAA but I have been impressed by the flexibility of thought and creativity exhibited in his work. Jean is constantly exploring new ways to create and comes up with some truly awesome stuff!! I have more but will wait for a bit to post them.

Oh my gosh there is so much amazing art here and so many wonderful people that are so willing to offer their time to help out their fellow artists...I could make a very long list...but if I were to chose one it would be Marlene Burns. One of the first artists whose work I saw here and one of the first to leave a comment on one of my early pieces...a comment that encouraged me to continue with this medium. She is a well of information and has such a great sense of humor AND her art work is AMAZING....I love how she looks at the world!
I don't know how to do that thing to add more than one piece :)

Must add Mario Carta to this list. Strong beliefs in his cool art and himself always is like a breath if fresh air.

Going to add Blaine Lidka to this list. Newish to FAA but with his fearless art and endless willingness to jump into the thick of things has become one of my favorites!

edit: Wow, Charles Vernon Moran's self portrait is beautiful.
Pretty much admiring the art, for the most part but do appreciate Frank J Casella for all of his advice.
Colt Forney, because he has nerves of steel.
Leah Saulnier (The Painting Maniac) because she has a wonderful sense of whimsy.
Mitchel Barrett
Because his photos have that dark room quality. It's difficult to explain but easier to show.

Would not feel clean to leave Marlene off of this. Marlene has been on this site forever and over the years we have agreed and disagreed on many issues. What I know about her is she is well trained has a great eye and is very smart. The site would not be near as much fun without her!

This is a great idea for a thread, Ronald-- thank you!
My pick would have to be the incredibly talented Brooks Garten Hauschild. She was one of the first people to speak to me, offering her kindness when I entered a contest of hers. She then offered her guidance/support when I hosted my first contest (which was fraught with problems). And overall, she's a very amiable, well-spoken, well-intentioned, warm, down-to-earth person who creates beauty for the world. Two of my favorites of hers:

Case in point, in another thread, I read Marlene's post, "I personally loved weiner level. and i bet abbie did too" I just laughed so loud my cat darted off my lap. Thanks you, as always, Marlene. =)

Thank you Jean Gab (Jean Gabriel Poivre) for mentioning me, I enjoy all the talk we have behind the scenes as well.
I love VIVA! Vivian Anderson with all her vibrant opinions, and expressionistic paintings; I also love chatting with you behind the scenes.
I love Sophi's (Carolyn Weltman) paintings and the work of Jean Gabriel Poivre's work. Those of you who do this kind probably get a lot of bots like me.
On that note, so many artist's here are extremely talented like my top favorites would be Michael Lang, Bette Orr, Sharon Cummings, Genevieve Esson, Mario Carta's sculptures, Marlene Burns' Abstracts, Alfred Ng and so many more...way too many to mention.
I love how David Bridburg makes me laugh everyday.
I really appreciate the words of Floyd Snider, Harold Shull, Mike Savad and Cheryl Edwards. I take advice from you...so make it good.
The work of Patricia Strand, Patrick Anthony Pierson, Stephanie Moore, Donna Proctor, Sydne Archambault, Bob Galka, Cynthia Decker, Mike Savad and Louise Reeves blows me away in it's professionalism. I learn so much from all of you and also too many more folks that motivate and inspire me to keep painting. Great photographs and digital art inspire my paintings as well if not more than the painters.
I would also like to thank Michael Hoard for his interesting stories.
Finally,
I'm thankful for our mediators Abby and JC. Without them the diatribes would go on and on.

I like everyone here. I have no use for pecking orders. None of us really do.
We have the luxury of being our own bosses here. Lets enjoy that.
Lisa thanks for the kind mention.

As Melissa said, too many to list and I don't want to mention any names because that would mean leaving somebody out. I'll just say thanks to everyone who contributes, helps, entertains, etc. and generally makes this a nice place to hang out! :)

My sincere thanks to Lisa, Rahdne, Jean, Ron and Val for the mentions. The images that have been posted have spanned a 25 year period in my work.
So happy to know I've made a small difference in your faa experience....especially about making you laugh.
After all is said and done, the most significant gift I will give, is a smile on your face.
I apologize if I have caused anyone to spit out coffee on their keyboard.
Complimentary paper towels will be available with my next joke. ;)

David Bridburg, here is the thing, there have been many times where I confess I have no idea what David is doing or why he is doing it but he has caused me to think and wonder more than any artist in the site. David is a sincere dedicated person who has a direction that he is going for. I look forward to seeing where David's art goes to in the future!

I'd like to thank Dale Witherow, Denny Bond and Cliff Spohn. They are all professional artists whose work and passion resonates with me. They do not frequent the threads.
Their work and conversations off site keep me fueled, even when I think I'm running on empty.

Wanted to mention Roger Swezey, half the time he gets me to laugh so much I over look the quality of his art. When I do look I must say his work is very creative and impressive!

Gee, thanks Ron... I think
It all depends on which "NICE" you are referring to
nice (adj.) Look up nice at Dictionary.com
late 13c., "foolish, stupid, senseless," from Old French nice (12c.) "careless, clumsy; weak; poor, needy; simple, stupid, silly, foolish," from Latin nescius "ignorant, unaware," literally "not-knowing," from ne- "not" (see un-) + stem of scire "to know" (see science). "The sense development has been extraordinary, even for an adj." [Weekley] -- from "timid" (pre-1300); to "fussy, fastidious" (late 14c.); to "dainty, delicate" (c.1400); to "precise, careful" (1500s, preserved in such terms as a nice distinction and nice and early); to "agreeable, delightful" (1769); to "kind, thoughtful" (1830).

So many great people here for the variety of traits that they have to offer. If I named a few, I would be leaving 25 out.
& I appreciate them all.
So Cheers ! Here's to the best of you.
