Camera Advice Please

Hi, I'm new to the site. I need some advice. I'd love to upload images of my paintings to sell large prints. Can anyone recommend a camera that will have a high enough resolution without breaking the bank? I'm looking for one at the bottom end of the price scale that will do the job. Maybe you know where I might find one second hand. I look forwards to your help. Thanks.

A (new) entry level DSLR from the major brands, plus a 50mm 1.8 lense will do the job.

If you need a camera for capturing your paintings only, maybe you can ask at a local photo club for help, or let it scan.

I shot with this camera for a few years and sell images from it here and on stock sites. Put it on a tripod and at ISO 100 and you'll get great quality images. 16mp will give you the ability to offer large prints.

under $400 on Amazon:

if you have a smaller image - use a scanner. the learning curve is smaller and you'll have nice sharp images without that much fuss and expense.
