Increase Your Learning Curve

I found this great website by seasoned art consultant Alan Bamberger. He covers many subjects on how to manage your art. Here is his page of subject titles for artists (if you see any titles in grey they are the ones I clicked on but you can click on them too).

If this has been any help to you please acknowledge below to keep this thread bumped up. Thank you.

I hope our forum peeps spend some time with these articles.
I'd also suggest asking Abbie to put this in the HELP section.

My sister, who is an art professor at UVIC says, you can tell good art by three things: 1) You linger a tiny bit longer than the average piece in front of you. 2) You return to that image a second time for a closer look. 3) If you look three times, it's good art.....to YOU. What is good art to one is not good art to another, but really, you are only worried about connecting with THE one who finds it good art, not at all the others who skim over it.

Kim, that makes sense. I think good art is known by everyone it just may not be everyone's personal choice.

This read is fantastic....about giving over your mailing lists to a gallery that is repping and showing you.
It proves how short sighted artists can be....and bad at the real business of art!

I clicked on and read that one Marlene, very interesting, things I wouldn't have known. Makes one have a good perspective of what it takes from the artist and gallery to run a show.
