Facebook Fan Page Shopping Cart Not Working Solution

Had problems with my FAA site not transferring to my FB fan page for quite some time now... stumbled across this wonderful little helper today.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TI948l_KIO0

Give you the run down of how to install and activate the shopping cart. Still had problems tho, as I kept getting this message:

"You do not have any Facebook fan pages that can be activated."

To get it to work, I had to initially DISABLE the link to my personal account (get to there from "Behind the Scenes" in your profile, then go to "Facebook Applications") and then rebuild ("enable") the link. I show my personal page is active, and NOW, FINALLY, I have the option to link my fan page.

So far so good... up to the point where I got another error: I tried to turn the fan page link "on" with the drop down menu, but I get a message that reads:

Something about all of my fan pages that I could link to already had the app installed.

OK, fixed that by going to my FB fan page and deleting the app (you know, the funky blue ink splot)... just click on the "x" on the right side of the tab/box.

Now, there is not a version of the app on my fan page. So back to the FAA site, refresh the FB applications page, and go to the drop down box. Now I can turn it on... check the Fan Page and IT WORKS!!!

Awesome! Hope that this helps some of you out. Wish I had recorded more details to make it more clear. If you have a question, post it.

I have had the same problem but now have a new one. I have three fan pages that appear. Two are ON and I cannot turn either one OFF. Also, with both ON, my new posts to FAA do not show up on my fan pages. If you can help, that would be great.

Rosanne - I would suggest that you go into the "Behind the Scenes" tab in your profile, then pull up Facebook Applications. From there, disable your personal account. That shoudl allow you to reset things by enabling your account and having control over which of the 3 pages you want to attach to the app.

Hi Mark,

Thanks for that great info! It resolved my issue. A follow-up please. My FB Fan Page
now looks the same. Thee only think I see regarding Fine Art is that kind of 3-dot
abstract, and to the right of it, the word, "Shop". When I click on either the word or
symbol, I am brought to the Fine Art shopping screen. Since that option is SO obscure,
I do not see how that stands out to a visitor that I offer prints for sale on Fine Art.
Any thoughts? How do I make that notification scream in the face of a visitor?

Thanks a lot......Tom :O)

I just posted about this problem today. I'll disable and re-enable.

Please log into FAA and disable both FAA apps

Then, remove the app from your Facebook Pages

FACEBOOK PROFILE

Go to your main homepage and see APPS on the left menu.
Delete the FINE ART AMERICA APP

FACEBOOK PAGE

On your FACEBOOK page, go to EDIT PAGE
On the edit page see the tab for APPS
Delete the FINE ART AMERICA APP

YOUR SITE HERE

Then, Make sure you are logged into Facebook as you, not as your page, and come back to your BEHIND THE SCENES | Facebook Application and enable the application again, Middle one (FB personal profile) and then the right one (FB page) If it does not popup, use a different browser and make sure your popup blocker is not enabled, or any ad blockers

The profile side must be enabled as well as the page but, you may turn off postings to that page in your default settings, once the application is all working

I have had this same problem, I have enabled and re enabled.
all though it says my personal FB page is active. there is no FAA app to delete on my personal page.
I have done the same thing over the last few days, thinking it just maybe a passing glitch, and have tried using different browsers.
There are many here having the same trouble it seems.
I'm guessing this feature needs to be looked at

If you don't have the FAA app on your page already then just go to the Facebook app behind the scenes. It's really very simple and straightforward!

Tom Potter, I just finally figured that one out. You have to go to the line below your cover photo where it says "timeline" "about", etc. Click on the drop down arrow where it says More and click on "Manage Tabs" If you don't see the "Shop" tab, click on Add or Remove tabs, choose "Apps", and then "Fine Art America" I then moved the "Shop" tab up to the 3rd position so that it shows on the front page.
