Lucifer's Squid...

When chemistry meets abstract art. I so love this and would imagine we get some great scientists and artist out of the crowd of kids watching this :D

As I was drinking my tea watching this a second time I thought, hang on, in best pareidolia fashion: This is surely "His Noodliness." None of the lame "visage on a bit of charred bread" for him, this is a 3-D realtime manfestation :D

Looks like just a larger version of the fireworks "snakes" we played with as kids around the 4th.

Very. Mercury Thiocyanate, so you have mercury compounds coming off in the vapors.

This used to be sold along side fireworks in little pellets (called snakes I think). They were considered a "safe" alternative to fireworks... and gave off highly toxic fumes. I don't think they sell them anymore.

Poisonous if you inhale, but it's still neat :D
