Second Year Of Faa

My second year on FAA has ended and I've been looking back at the FAA stats. They are quite different to my first year on FAA. This info may be of interest to anyone who is new to FAA.

I've made 11 sales including greeting cards, a phone case and a few prints (paper, canvas and metal), with a maximum size of 16" x 10". The sold pictures were taken in India, Iran, Iceland and Turkey, all bought by customers in the USA. My profit for the year is around $200.

I've uploaded nothing new in the past year and done no marketing. I'm a member of about 40 groups and submit pictures to groups and contests sporadically.

For comparison, from my first year on FAA:

FAA sold 15 photos from ranging from greeting card size up to 40"x 40". The sold pictures were taken in India, Nepal, Turkey and Syria. Prints have been sold on paper (6), canvas (6) and metal (3). My profit has been a little under $1000. Customers were from across the world: USA, Australia, India, Ireland and Singapore.

Thanks Robert. Very good lesson here.

"uploaded nothing new in the past year and done no marketing."

This is the key factor in the drop in sales. Meanwhile others uploaded a lot of stuff and did a lot of promotion. Basically dropping your work down a few notches. Good lesson on what it takes to build up a business - continuous effort.

imagine how much you'd get if you uploaded more and advertised.

each year i make more money, each year i have more work. if your not trying that hard to sell the work, it will sit on the back burners being buried by people that are more ambitious. and if you only made $200 - you should increase your prices.
