a lot of that had to really, really hurt, but some of it was rather funny. it amazes me how many grown adults can watch a movie and think they can some how preform the stunt.

That's funny I've seen some of those on funniest videos.

oh geez, I had to stop watching...ow ow ow

I hate when that happens.

I think I laughed at one. Having done a few stupid things and got the scars to prove it, I don't find people cracking their faces (or crotches) on pavement to be particularly amusing.
Having said that, this is damned funny (and no stupid jumping-off-rooftop stunts). https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10153088930196661&pnref=story

the problem with those videos are, they never show them limping away, the blood, broken teeth and bones. so then it breeds a new batch of idiots to see if they can do that same stunt.

Isn't that how natural selection is supposed to work?

A few years ago, I had a fall that resulted in a concussion - and was followed a few months later by a subdural hematoma (bleeding next to the brain) that nearly ended my life. So when I watch these people smacking their heads on concrete, let's just say it 'resonates'.

But that doesn't stop me from laughing myself sick at these idiots. :-)

There are even funnier 'fail' videos on YouTube involving crazy parking lot incidents, collisions on icy roads and other catastrophic driver mishaps.

I taught those guys (NOTICE they are all guys) everything that they know, since I can very easily teach people how to be morons. Just ignore EVERYTHING I profess, and they obviously DID.

So is this...

Yes Mike is right, these falls have to really hurt and the videos never show the blood, broken bones or teeth so others may get encouraged to try the same stupid stunt.

If they continued to show an ambulance taking the person to the hospital, or the weeks or months of difficult recovery and for some perhaps a permanent disability; then it would not be so funny to watch and others may not want to give it a try.

Then the "accident victim" assumes their employer's ( or Mom / Dad's employer's ) medical insurance will pay their bills. That's not funny either as it raises the costs for everyone. Maybe someday insurance companies will find videos of their " accident victim's " stunt and then use that as evidence to decline payment of their medical bills.

the only time people can relate, is if it happens to them. i know what it feels like to fall off a bike face first. i'm glad my bag swung out to catch it or i would have taken out teeth. i've gotten hurt from this and that. but those who haven't can only laugh because they don't have the pain to go with it.

some of these are obvious they planned to hurt themselves - like who peddles into a sign? or does vaults over a canyon? the first question in my mind is -- why are they filming it?

http://www.weather.com/news/greenville-spartanburg/wyff/video/watch-reporter-go-face-first-into-giant-snowman this one was funny because it wasn't intended

but then there is this guy, which seems fake to me, but still a bit funny.

I have a tendency to watch those compilation videos and think to myself:

dead. dead. injured. dead. embarrassed. dead. injured. maimed. dead. castrated. injured. dead.

Oh, my Cynthia. I think there's something wrong with me. I just laughed out loud at your post.....

Yeow. I have to admit I laughed here and there but really, it's just painful to watch.

An interesting coincidence is that's the second time today I've watched a video with "That's Amore". This one IMO is hilarious...you have to wait for Deano's song though. No people were injured in this video...except maybe their pride.

I kind of want to learn that version of the song now, ... maybe make up my own version.

What about that guy who successfully jumped over the car coming at him head on, only to get smashed by a car from the other direction, when he cockily mugged for the camera? - is he dead? I would like to see THAT. Not so funny, yeah.

Oh, they WERE injured, Peggy C., ... they just shook it off "like a man".

Again, ... why do we NOT see any females in this video? This does not bode well for male intelligence. Are men the biggest morons? - looks like a "yes" to me.

Absolutely brutal.....my god.....

I have great empathy for people. I physically winced over and over again all through that.

Robert, do a search on youtube for women fail compilations and you will see many examples of morons of the female persuasion. Maybe not so much of the daredevil variety but still plenty of activity demonstrating lack of intelligence.

So, I've managed to go through my entire life without breaking a single bone, only a small hairline fracture on my right elbow from doing an endo on my mountain bike, (grabbed too much front brake while descending a steep rock trail.) does that mean I'm intelligent or a wimp?

I went to YouTube, searched on "parking lot fail" and experienced 20 minutes of pure joy.

"Moron"... I dislike the word... But there are occasions that you have to use it:

Some of these are probably eligible for Darwin Awards, which are awarded (often posthumously) to people who remove their genes from the gene pool. Definitely dark humor.

How about we start a list of moronic decisions? Here I'll start:

* piercing your genitals
* tying your dog to a tree in freezing weather
* stopping your car in the middle of any street to have a conversation with somebody on the curb or in another car also stopped but facing in the opposite direction (double morons)
* leaving your infant child or pet in a sealed car on a hot summer day
* allowing your car wheels to continue rolling at a store parking lot exit, giving oncoming drivers no visual clue whatsoever as to what your next move might be (while behind darkly tinted windshields too)

Okay, that's three car-related "moronicities" [new word suggestion, ... which in itself might be moronic].
