Drop Shipping / Manufacturers Agreement

Hello, I have recently asked Etsy for an approval on a manufacturing agreement. I know Fine Art America has no problem with drop shipping; and that Etsy approves if I let my customers know which items will be coming from the manufacturer.

I have informed Etsy. Do I need to inform Fine Art America?

No. We send the prints and people return to us if anything untoward happens. That is all we need to know

I went through that process too, it takes awhile but you will be accepted. Abbie if someone buys a print from our other shops, we can use fineartamerica for drop shipping correct? meaning they won't put an invoice in shipment etc?

What did you include in your information you gave to Etsy? I'm going to do the same soon. Getting a service to print canvases is bait different to having someone manufacture objects for you.

What is "Drop Shipping"? Just curious!

Rose it's when you sell a print like on Etsy and someone else like FAA does the printing and shipping to your customer.

@Steven, I just explained that I would be selling original pieces directly from my studio *No need for a manufacturer agreement for that >(Shipped from myself); And Prints etc. from my manufacturer (Which will be shipped from them/Fine art America). I have Made that information clear on my About & Policy page. They will ask for a few images as an example. To Etsy it's all the same, as long as you let your customers know everything about the final product and it's legit of course. If you are printing (Prints of your work on paper/canvas etc) and shipping yourself, then it is coming from you (Even if you print it from home or a printers). Many artist print themselves and sign their work; You do not need a manufacturer agreement for that I believe. It is more for merch that has to be built & shipped with the help of outside manufacturers if that applies to you with your business plan.

Hope that helps!

Following, thanks.

I am curious about all this as well, so when the order is placed through Etsy, is it up to the artist to then order the print through Fine Art America? or are both sites linked up somehow and the ordering/shipping information goes directly to Fine Art America? I'm not on Etsy but have been considering.
thanks

When an order is placed, you, as the artist, are responsibel for shipping the product. You can either print it yourself and ship it (you add a shipping charge to your site; you can create a shipping label from within etsy, with prices cheaper than you can get through USPS.com). Or you can get set up for someone else to print the image (you need to be approved by etsy). In this case you then order the print through FAA (or which ever pod you use), and get them to ship to your customer.

I print my own, and make more money than if I got faa to print them. I will, however, get FAA or somether site to print and ship canvasses for me (which I cannot produce), when I have some spare time.

@Marie, What Steve said :) lol. When approved I will have to order after I have received a valid payment from the customer.
@JC I have researched and have read that many have been doing that as well. :) I'm tempted to do the same; I applied for that thing over a week ago... I believe Etsy has just recently changed their manufacturers/shipping policies. Still not liking their shipping setup, not many options. Wish I could just choose from providers/services and have an automated shipping calculator. Even small e-cart apps offer that option. Hope that changes soon!
