Art Hanging Systems

I’m tired of filling in nail holes and painting when I switch out artwork.
Can anyone suggest a simple yet strong, art hanging system that consists of J-channel, cable and adjustable clips for artwork up to 60lbs per cable/clips. I’m going to rearrange artwork throughout the house periodically. Nothing too fancy, but not cheep looking either. A Do it your self or companies that offer kits? I have several walls; some have several pieces, some will be in line, and a few only have one or two large pieces.

We use a rail system, s-hooks, and chains like this one: http://en.louiselamirande.com/build-and-installation-of-simple-and-convenient-hanging-system/. Tricky, but effective.

Thanks Vanessa, not sure I like the look of the s-hooks but it is an inexpensive alternative.

Anyone ever use the clear nylon cable as part of your hanging system?

Peter, I realize you want this for rooms and have gotten some great advice, I have a different solution for a room dedicated to art. I have a gallery with 2 long walls and one short. I devised a system that will look nice but allow me to hang work of different sizes and move it around. I had my remodeler use 4 foot by 8 foot plastic lattice (I used gray) there are vertical furring strips on the dry wall and the lattice is screwed to the strips (after painting walls and wood gray of course). Then I purchased "S" hooks. The hooks can be moved at will, larger works can use 2 hooks to keep the work level. It is clean and neat looking.

Thanks Kevin, the lattice sound like an interesting way to hang and display as well as decorative. I've used the lattice that way for a few vender shows and they worked out well, but for the home walls, I'm looking for more of a "gallery" look.

Isabella, I think your piece was the first one I bought from a FAA artist/member and to this day I'm happy I did.
