Tons Of Views From Beverly Hills Lately

I know it has been discussed before on here about some bot from Beverly Hills and I have seen them hitting my images every so often, but it seems like lately I have been getting a lot of hits from this bot or whatever it is. Have any of you noticed a rather high percentage of hits coming from there lately or has it been pretty steady.

Just curious what your views from there are like. I know those views never amount to anything more than just empty impressions, but it seems like recently my gallery has been hit with them a lot lately. Has this been the same for you?

I dont get nearly the bot views from NY as I do Beverly Hills, but I do get a decent amount of them. The Beverly Hills hits are coming in all the time and on a lot of my images. I know that the views are meaningless and I would rather not have them distort my overall views of my work since they do not actually translate to any sales as far as I can tell.

I have also been getting a decent amount of bot views from Kista - Sweden and of course Kiez - Germany as well.

Me too. Especially in the last 2 weeks. Tons of Beverly Hills, daily and many views hourly on works.

same here - but I did get a purchase from Beverly Hills a couple of weeks ago, so either the bot actually buys occasionally - or someone actually lives there!

You're right, it has been discussed endlessly here. Search the forums and you'll see.

They do more than leave empty impressions. Bots are an essential part of search engine optimisation and web spider ing. Bots may potentially mean greater digital exposure.

Too many people worry about bots. Just forget about them and let them do their thing. Approx 75-85% of all visits are bots.

If you have strong or many keywords, post links on blogs or social media, have relevant content etc, you will see more bots.

Yes, I've been observing this for quite some time and kept wondering! Thanks for bringing up, dear Eric!

Justin,

Thanks for the feedback and like I said I know it has been discussed before. That is why I asked about the activity recently on this site.

I dont think any of us are tossing and turning at night because some bots are visiting our work. I have seen this for years on this site and my own personal sites and I have seen this on the forums before. I just saw the activity pick up recently and did not know if it was just on mine or across the board here at FAA.

So while it is an old subject I was asking others about if they have seen any uptick on this lately. Some have as they have posted here.

Roz,

Thanks for posting "bots". I clearly said these were bots in my original post. The question was are other people seeing a large increase in their visits on their pages here as well.

Yes, I have noticed it too. A LOT more from New York and Beverly Hills! I post on pinterest a lot so I thought maybe it was because of that. But it's not just those photos - it's all my photos. One night I think Beverly Hills went through my entire gallery almost. I thought that was weird. I was going to post something here too but I knew it has been discussed before. But it does seem to be more - that's new.

Eric, Beverly Hills is also the main router for many connections, not only a search bit.

So many people visiting show that as their location.

Ie Beverly Hills and New York both have many connections coming through them

I asked pretty much the same thing once and I guess it's better not bother with bots or pay much attention to the visits counter. Bots are not filtered so the counter is not much use. I also get increasing numbers of visits myself, and a lot lately.

I don't worry about the bots. I just want to have a sale! Been working on social media a bit, but I am not "internet" savvy so it is taking me a while to get there....

After the Oscar ceremonies the losers look for artwork to cover up the area they cleared for the statue they didn't get.

Same thing after the Tony Awards but from NYC.

I adore it when Beverly Hills blocks me from seeing real viewers and potential clients.
It serves to remind me how pointless the visitor stats are for realists.

Beverly Hills is real viewers as well as the bots

i think there is a gallery or a collector in Beverly Hills who views it. every time i upload an image, its viewed from Beverly Hills. and I had someone buy an image 96 x 48 from Beverly Hills. I hope they keep looking and buying

the NY location, could be same thing. a gallery or a collector who likes to look at stuff

I will never understand why anyone cares. The only stat that matters is does your marketing produce sales? You can't eat views.

I get a lot when I post on Twitter so I'm guessing that maybe it's a bot that has something to do with Twitter but that's just my best guess ;-) I'd like to believe it's a bunch of movie stars that can't make up their mind which of my photos to hang on their wall. :-)

David,

I will never understand why people feel the need to post a reply when they clearly have not even read what the post actually says.

I am sure many of us here totally thought we could eat views and had no idea sales had any importance at all in the art world... other than pay rent, phone, car, gas, electric, food and to cover costs of equipment, software, travel, medical, dental, education and other misc family expenses. Other than that, what do we really need sales for?

Marlene Burns

Eric, to answer your question, yes. Beverly Hills has added about 3, 000 hits to my portfolio this month...over and over again, sometimes several times within an hour. This phenomena, if you can call it that, happens a few times a year. I can only assume that the vast majority of those hits are search engines updating or a cell phone company that reroutes through the Beverly Hills IP range beginning with 54.....

Views: billionaires from Dubai.

I opened not long ago a topic about extraordinary hits from New York, and yes I have Beverly Hills also, its a good thing, its a good thing.

@Ricardo, now that is what I am talking about, the Billionaires......and they do buy art and photography in the hundreds of thousand dollar range, I am gained, here I am way down yonder in New Orleans, come get me BOT.....

Cheers, Michael Hoard, Actor, Artist and Photographer

Looking good Michael!

I was curious so I looked this up:

The average household income in Beverly Hills is $193,000, but when you look at the high and low ends of the spectrum, you'll find that the richest fifth of Beverly Hills households earn an average of nearly $661,000, while the poorest earn less than $14,500 (that's a factor of 45).

-- One in nine households in Beverly Hills are classified as "extremely low income," meaning they have single people making less than $17,950 or two wage-earners making less than $20,050.

Eric, thanks for your comment. I'm new to this site, but I'm already at over 600+ views, and most of them are from Beverly Hills, CA. Even though most may be bots, like others said..I'm sure that's a good thing. I get hits from NYC bots as well, but lately..past couple of days, the views from the Beverly Hills bots have greatly increased.

Some of the Beverly Hills traffic may come from Pinterest. Every time I pin one of my works I get multiple visits from Beverly Hills.

I get over 100 views every day (including Bev Hills) and only 1 sale in over 2 years... So frustrating and definitely not worth the premium membership fee... I need to cancel that soon...

In most cases Beverly Hills = wireless connection and the viewer can be anywhere. I verified this again last week with a client who lives in Florida but shows as Beverly Hills when she views my work on her large phone. Expect more of this and less views through dial up and cable connections which are associated with a local servers that identify location.

Loree Johnson

Bradford's right. Mobile broadband connections often show up as Beverly Hills. You can test it by using a smartphone or tablet to view one of your images. Make sure you are on the data network and not wifi, and don't sign in. You will likely see yourself as a hit from BH.

Valerie Reeves

Beverly Hills is always the first view I get as soon as I upload.

I thought I saw some new bots recently...Yogyakarta, Indonesia; Cajica, Colombia and Leduc, Canada...
