Maggie In The Mist

Hi Everybody...new poem. Anyone have a piece I could use with it for Emotionography?

Maggie in the Mist

the days creep slowly by now
deprived of beauty and grace
even the cheery, emerald hills
trickle azure tears of dew as
the sea pounds an angry fist
thrashing, foamy, lathered pain
mourning that angelic voice
lost in Triton’s watery tomb

but sometimes in the silence
of a chill-worn, foggy eve
I can faintly hear her laughter
floating softly on the breeze
and feel the sultry elegance
of her touch wash over me
calming my shadowy demons
like a peaceful, morphine dream

I know she’s waiting patiently
at rapture’s misty gates
standing in a flowered field
gazing down with gentle eyes
sparkling like the polar star,
guiding beacon in the squall
to harbor me in loving arms
beyond the turbulent tides

Denver, Colorado '15

For those of you who don't know me, I've been hanging out here for about five years and have a non-commercial website with my poetry in it that many FAA artist have most generously contributed to. I use their pieces and put links to their website on the piece and in a credits page.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Jerry, we haven't met before but I want to say, your work is beautiful. I'm enjoying reading your books. I'd be honoured if you'd like to use one of my painting.

This is the description for the one above.
With a drop of water, a thought was born and a girl was chosen. What was she chosen for, they ask. That is what you must learn for yourselves, she says....

I'm also a published author. One of my character in the novel I'm currently writing is named Megan or Maggie as she is best known...
Drop me a PM, if you'd like to know more.

Cheers, Barbara

Wow, I guess this one struck a sweet chord...I have trouble telling sometimes what people will like or not like. I wonder if you folks have the same thing with when you do a art piece? Sometimes the ones I think are earth shattering get crickets and the vice versa. Thanks so much everybody. I posted this in the Denver airport on my way to California for work and didn't get in until after midnight. I'll look these over this evening when I get off. Thanks again, these are nice pieces!

Thanks to everyone who responded and a special thanks to Jim and Barbara for letting me use their work on Emotionography.

I think they really frame the mood of the poem:

Anyone who wants to be part of the project, just look for pages that have the PoetryMan picture at the top...that indicates I need another piece to go with them and if you have one that fits the mood of the poem, I'd love to have you aboard. I can't believe this thing's five years old next month....we're getting old!

That was a great poem and I thought you chose the right images to go with it as well.

Thank you Lisa...I looked over your work and really like it. You have a really cool eye for things.

Well done Jerry. You reading with the recording is much better than me reading it to myself.

I don't know about that, but thanks Jim....it's interesting when other people read and interpret them at not exactly the cadence I had in my mind

Special Thanks for Lisa Kaiser for letting me use two of her pieces for the website:
