And thanks, Sean, too, I'm sure.

Some time ago I complained privately to Frank about the group search function here. It was worthless. You could put a key word in, maybe even the only word word in the name of the group, and turn up everything but the group. It was almost impossible to find groups on subjects of interest using that search - or any way that I knew of. Frank, at that time new to his job as overseer of groups (I made that title up), said he was aware of the problem and was working on it.

Well, today I wanted to recommend a nice, active group, the Artistic Forager, to Marilyn Cornwell, an artist who has a lovely gallery of mushroom close-ups and abstracts - really lovely :) I couldn't remember the name of the group as I don't belong (but I've participated in a few of their contests from time to time so I knew they existed). Fungus didn't turn them up (not in the group title or description), but both fungi and mushrooms did. Anyway . . . I was able to find the group quite easily and pass the information on.

So thanks again to whoever is responsible for fine-tuning this function here. Should be as useful for potential buyers as it is for members!

Yes, I posted this update in the group admins group discussions.... more to come I hear. I didn't have anything to do with it, Nikolyn, for I think we all work together to help each other make it through life. So, thank you for this suggestion and, yes, you're right it is now a dream to do my 'job' a the groups moderator. There are over 3000 groups now.

Most important is when an interested buyer uses the group search ...... just pop in a word and see what happens!!

My last post I had to run out the door but I want to say a lot of this has to do with Sean and Abbie. I have to say, since I've been the groups mod I've been watching Abbie in the background of things .... it is nothing short of impressive ALL that she does and how she does it. So thank you Abbie for all the things you do that go un-noticed that keep FAA working ... and all of us 'Family'.

Thanks to this posting, I checked out the search groups function again - it does seem much better! So thank you, Sean, Abbie, and Frank - this is great!

I'm actually going to bump this for the evening crowd - even if the title should be changed to Thanks Everyone for the changes to group search

I do think those of us who enjoy groups should be aware of this.

I got seriously fed up with trying to find groups people were asking me about just to have them at the back... I did ask Sean several times to change it but he is so busy he forgot. However, on the phone the other day I gave him about 10 pleases... Then told him what I wanted, groups the RIGHT way around and then another 10 pleases. Within a couple of hours of the call it was changed :). Thanks Sean!!

Since it's changed I have not had to find another group....go figure!
