The best thing is to never expect...anything...and you won't be disappointed. I'm really working on this motto in all areas of my life. Luckily on here I usually get a reply to my comment, but not always. C'est la vie! Happy Valentine's day everyone. xo

Oh yes, I can relate to starting threads and getting few responses. It is what it is.

I enjoy your discussion comments. You make more sense than some here.

You are spot on as to how I feel when my comments end a forum thread, but the truth might surprise me...I can be a real airhead. I apologize if I didn't respond to one of your threads. There a so many that I can't think of a single thing to contribute even when the thread is very interesting.

Sometimes my comments overlap with someone else's and it looks like I am taking the thread backwards which of course wasn't my intention. I did start one thread that got very few comments and that was okay. Sometimes I say something in a thread and it gets ignored but I figure that is just the way it goes. My biggest problem (and I know I am not alone) is the time zones, some of you guys are only just up and around for the day when I am getting ready for bed. I see a lot of things I would comment on if I were up and about! For example, it is 9.30am here in Italy now.

Sometimes you get more than you want...
I made a post asking a simple technical question since:
1. I'm new to selling my photos - they're usually cheap Christmas presents
2. I'm new to this site
3 I'm just an amateur beginning photographer - my last job was taking photos of oil rigs and coal mines. Loved the job but who really wants to see those.
I received at least five replies telling me that I wasn't an amateur and that I had a good eye. It was so nice to received the unsolicited praise.
Then there was one photographer - let's call him Ansel - that felt the need to tell me that I sucked and should really learn the best time of day to take photos.
Gee, thanks. Nice inspiration there. I looked at his and they were so dark they were hard to discern. A.A. he's not but he's good. I didn't tell him that.
I was getting so many comments and was told by so many nice people to not worry about it that I finally closed the discussion myself.

So, I didn't get a single Valentine but wrote one on my FB page to a friend that left this world much too soon. I will miss hearing from her.
