2014 1099's

Have not received any notice yet; in USA required by law they be sent by Jan 31. But then, I don't know if I earned enough to require one.

If you made over $600 you get one.

I received an email on January 23 with a link to print it out.

I got mine a few weeks ago. Via email, with a link to print out the form.

On Jan 15, 2015 I received an email from FAA stating they needed additional info from me (street address) so that they could send me a 1099. I promptly filled out the info in "behind the scenes" tax info area. But I have not received a 1099 yet. Could someone at FAA please let me know the status of the 1099 as I am trying to do my income tax returns and need that info.

Hi Lady,

Before posting in this discussion and before sending an email to Tech Support, I checked all of my email folders (including junk, spam, etc) and did not receive a 1099 in email or any other form for 2014 from FAA.

I also posted a message to Tech Support. I have not heard back from them. This has happened before where I sent a message to Tech Support and did not receive a reply back. There have been claims in the past that there is an email problem with FAA and Comcast. Perhaps is what happened this time.

What I want to know is what I need to do next to get the 1099 from FAA? I was thinking that since they needed additional info from me, my 1099 did not go out with the rest of them and maybe needed to be done separately. If they can check and see if the email was sent to me, is there any way they could re-send please?

It could be I sent your ticket to Accounts. If you earned over $600 you should get it ASAP I have bumped it for you

According to the initial email I got from FAA (requesting street address info), my income exceeded $600. Is this amount determined based on actual amounts paid to me in 2014 instead of 2014 sales? If I don't get the 1099 soon, maybe I could calculate it myself from my 2014 payouts?

It should be noted in these discussions that the $600 is not a taxing minimum. Any income is taxable in the USA. This is only a reporting limit to FAA. However, you should also know that new laws are requiring credit card processors and banks to issue 1099s now of how much they processed for you each year.

You should realize that even if no one else is required to file on you, you're still responsible for reporting everything you got and there is a obvious 'dah' campaign to utilize the sharability of electronic information. This is also greatly heightened by the legal favoritism of wall street. The government can't tax them, so they are desperate to make sure you are paying every $.

Oh, so we don't get one if it is under $600? And yes, i know i still have to report all my POD self employment, but good reminder Mary Ellen....and i have multiple contest prize winnings to report...sigh... I better start my taxes!

1099s are getting later every year and it's a real PITA. I just got the last one I needed, from a big financial institution. They face no penalties for lateness and are just pushing their problems downstream to customers and tax preparers.
