If I were at a West Virginia Serpent Preacher Convention, I am sure I would feel weird.
If I were invited to a dinner party and people were eating the brain of monkey (yes there are people that actually do that) right out of his head, while he is alive, I would think they are not just weird but practically insane. Everyone is weird in their own way. Some are perfectly insane!

Compare to some groups, most artists I know, are perfectly sane and normal whatever that means.

I confess.......I am a total weirdo........But as artists I think we should all enjoy, and celebrate, our weirdness! A wise person once said, "To have a Picasso in your home is considered a status symbol. To actually have Picasso in your home, at any time in his life, would have been considered a disaster!" I wish I could remember who said that.........................

Got the art by the way Roger…Looks great. My first one I got a few years ago has some dust and cob webs on it and it actually improves it.

Might bit on the weird way...

I never understood the concept of normal & weird in the public eyes. Of course there are those that get off on putting an extra effort to be different & getting a negative reaction from others. They like the negative looks from others...keeps people at a distant emotionally but yet still get the attention they want.

weird should be unique.

UNIQUE: Confident. Dont care what others think. Are real. Leaders. Creators. Visionaries. Not afraid to fail.

NORMAL: Insecure. Afraid to be different. Dont think for themselves. Followers. Live in a bubble waiting for others to do something first. Like clothing Fads....Do you ever feel some are just ridiculous yet most see one famous person wear it & the next day everyone has it on. haha silly. Just to have the feel of "fitting in" It use to be more so a high school thing b/c you dont really know who you are yet. Now I see grown adults I think still dont know who they are yet..still trying to "fit in"

According to my friends, family, fans, coworkers, bosses, enemies and neighbors I am extremely weird. Because of this, I've seen doctors who prescribe anxiety meds which I never take unless I'm around someone dying, a psychiatrist who told me I'm normal, and one neurologist who studied my brain and then told me my brain was perfect and healthy. Hmmm, yes, I'm weird.

People who like me say I'm eccentric. People who don't know me say I'm weird. People who hate me become obsessed calling me all sorts of names like psychotic, schizoidish and just plain rotten to the core. Oh and my personal favorite is "narcissist."

In my opinion, I'm boring. My favorite thing to do is scrub my face of make-up, brush my teeth and get in my PJ's and watch a game. How could I possibly be weird?

Katie - I like the idea of 'normal' being the weird part. So worried about people thinking aren't "normal" that you stifle the real you.

Noooo.... I am a LOT a bit weird!

I'm weird only in some respects - in others I'm normal as can be - but probably more weird than normal - maybe - maybe not - now that's weird. I think my current me is weird - in more ways than one. Maybe my next me will be normal - weird.

I will answer your question with a question..."have you ever met anyone you really considered normal" In my 60 years..I never have.. artist don't have a exclusive on weird.. but the world does..and thank goodness...if we were all the same...how boring..

It's difficult to judge one's own weirdness. But my husband quite often tells me how weird I am. I let my freak flag fly around him without any reservations. He can handle it 'cause guess what? He's pretty weird!
