How To Set Up Artist Website As A Subdomain?

Hi all, I want to set this: http://jai-johnson.artistwebsites.com/index.html up as a subdomain on my website jaiart.com under shop.jaiart.com (I use Godaddy). Can someone please point me to instructions somewhere on how to do this?

Also, is there a benefit in the search engines to doing this?

A shopping cart widget?

No, I want it to say my domain name instead of the artist website one. I know where I saw others had kept their domain/website like it is (which I want to do) but added a subdomain to point to the artist website. I just can't find the instructions on how to do it.

I did that with GoDaddy. Sign onto your AW and go to custom domain name. The instructions are there.

I did that Jessica but that's for a custom domain (the main website). I already have my website set up like I want so I need the instructions to set up a SUB-domain (shop.jaiart.com is what I want to use)

Follow the instructions for setting up a normal domain, but:

For the A record, instead of using the hostname '@', use the hostname 'shop'. (Or whatever subdomain you want).
For the CNAME record, instead of using the hostname 'www', use the hostname 'www.shop'. (Or whatever subdomain you want).

Don't forget to set the full subdomain (shop.jaiart.com) at the FAA end (in the Custom Domain Name section of your AW site configuration).

Check to make sure that both shop.jaiart.com and www.shop.jaiart.com both end up at your AW site when you've finished. (Allowing a few minutes for GoDaddy to propogate the changes).

I have one more question...is there any way to make the HOME link on the AW page go to my main URL?

No problem :)

Edit: Regarding the home button, as far as I'm aware that can't be altered to go to an off-site location :( You could link to it via an image or text in one of the customisable header sections, though.

Ok, thanks Alexis. I am already linking to it elsewhere on the page, but I thought it would be nice if when they clicked "home" they could be taken back to the main page of my site. It's all good though! Thanks again for your concise instructions on setting up the sub-domain to work correctly. I really, really appreciate it!
