Exhibiting Ones Work

Quick question to all my fellow members- I'm hoping someone can show me the ropes, how does one go about exhibiting their work in the states or anywhere else in the world?
I'dlike all the advice I can get!

Melissa,

Welcome! And I think you are already doing that! I'm in the State of Florida and I see your artwork, very nice!

Is that what you are asking?

not sure what the question is. Your work if uploaded to FAA will appear all over the world via the internet.

also if you click on the help tab at the top of the discussions you well see all kinds of links to helpful info

maybei phrased it wrong, like a gallery exhibition type how does one go about doing that? like participate with other artists?

Well you would have to find someone in the country you want to exhibit and work with them . They would need to provide you with an address to send your work for exhibit and do all the leg work to display your work in a venue . Your best bet is to contact galleries and ask.

A good way is to start local so you don't have to send your work. Check local galleries and shows to see if there are any shows coming up that fit your style. I just got 2 pieces accepted into a show coming up in a couple of weeks. It was open to Artists world wide. The Figure Revealed. Here is the link to give you an idea how it works.

Are there any galleries locally in Curacao?

I'm sure that would be a great place to start.

I looked at your bio and saw that you have been interviewed on local television - congrats on that, that is pretty cool!

Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=80ergZRhm5o (note - the part of the interview with Melissa is in English!)

btw - you can make the links in your bio live (clickable) then you could get a lot more exposure for your great links! the code is super simple I just hesitate to write it here as I don't know if it will mess things up on the message board.

Oh hell with it - you just type:

(edit - omg it did mess it up! - so I just edited it out! there must be a tutorial around! sry!)

then you paste the complete url in quotation marks, that is:

I love the beautiful cute Amsterdam style facades in your paintings. Curacao is gorgeous!

Thank you soo much! there are very few, and they aren't very active, so I was looking for opportunities, outside of the island - and maybereach more people

Galleries are privately owned so they all have their own requirements. Since they are businesses they're main concern is showing marketable work that their client base is interested in.

You might consult this site: http://www.artistsmarketonline.com/

Work that is about local subjects is going to be hard to sell outside of that location. More likely to be sold to people on vacation.

That is mostly who i sell to, but i'm sure people have sold paintings of the leaning tower of pisa, or statue of liberty to people outside the the local market.
