Well This Defies Logic.

The proven method around here is generally to sell photos on FAA you need to have a large stock of excellent quality dynamic shots and market them well.

I have one photo uploaded, one, single, solitary black and white photo, and I've only ever mentioned it here on these forums in a thread a few months ago.

I sold a print of it today.

:)
So much for understanding how all this works.

Cynthia, don't over think it. I've had the same experience, like "they bought THAT?" LOL.

But in your case, it's a cool image - congrats!

Well, it's a very unique and cool photo. It makes one think of the play "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams. However did you manage to snap that picture? Congrats on your sale!

You were not even an embryo when that picture was taken!

Now that is exactly what I am talking about, is that exciting or what!! Congrats on your sale, I like it very much. I actually remember in the 50 riding a bus like that one. They actually had real leather seats and window shades. I also remember the long window above the window was either green glass or deep blue. I loved watching the sun shine through the tinted glass. That photo was taken on Canal Street here in New Orleans and that is the Desire Bus. And it was Tennessee Williams who wrote "A Street Car Named Desire" I did not even see JL post until just now, I actually have a photo of the famous St. Car Tennessee Williams wrote the his famous novel. A long time friend now deceased was a very good friend of his and use to tell us story's about him.

Well ... it's a good think you uploaded it. Congrats Cynthia!

By the way ... " The proven method around here is generally to sell photos on FAA you need to have a large stock of excellent quality dynamic shots and market them well. "

If you look at the best sellers page at least three of the top ten have less than thirty (30 ) images on their profile page. If you do a search for their social media channels you'll see they don't market well either.

all they have to do is find you. that's why you need good work up here. people browse and find something else. the ones you advertise are the ring leaders ushering people in. often my sellers never were even looked at.

Congrats Cynthia. We never know what someone will buy. If they went on your site and saw your other work, it makes you think, "What's wrong with my other work?" lol.

"Ceci n'est pas logique"

pretty cool, congrats. Another way to look at it could be that anything you list is bound to sell sooner or later with all the super interesting work you have going on. Reminds me of Magritte, a little more outside the box, if that is even possible.

Also a testament to FAA that such "illogical" sales can occur.
