To Crop A Photo Question Part 2

Thanks to everyone for their feedback on this subject. You all have been very helpful with helping me with the cropping issue. This is the first time I have offered more than one choice for an image on here. Since some people mentioned that they thought it could be cropped less I decided to post 3 different versions and let the buyer choose. Just out of curiosity I was wondering which of the three you personally think looks the best to you? So if you have a minute let me know if you had to choose one which one would it be? 1, 2 or 3?

I like 2 or 3, but take it down another notch and see what that looks like. Wayne

Wayne, I don't think it can really be taken down much more because the bottom cant be touched because the fountains would get cut off and the top would start to cut of the buildings at the top left. I don't think I can really crop much more than 3 without losing any key parts of the image. I like to shoot some shots for the 3 to 1 crop, but I don't think this image can be cut more than a 3 to 2 ratio.

I think the middle one to me looks the best, but the only problem with that crop is that the printing and framing would have to all be custom and cost more money for me to deal with for sales outside of FAA. That is the great thing about FAA is that no matter what the crop they deal with it. You go to a frame store and the crush you with custom sizes on the price.

Thanks for the feedback

Number 1 is the winner. the blue sky at the top helps the blue water at the bottom and balances the image,

It's still definitely #1 for me, for all the reasons I mentioned before.

Definitely 2. There's just enough blue sky to balance the image without overpowering it.

To me,

If you go with #2 or #3, you might as well, photoshop out all the clouds.

I go for 1, it looks more natural and balanced,
2-3 seemed to be squeezed in and can not see much of the beautiful sky
Best of luck Eric !!

1... I like images that show the beauty of the sky and sun. I agree with Teresa...2 and 3 look too condensed.

I still like 1 because it forces me to explore the entire scene. In 2 the fountains become more of a focal point. In 3 its the sun.

The fountains look slanted to me, very slightly to the right, so I would fix that first, then I would crop like number 3 to follow the rule of thirds.

Mick,

The fountains have a slant to them. It is like a small curve and not a straight line of water fountains.

2 is perfect! Not too much sky and not chopped off either!

#1 The whole composition works perfectly!!

1 for me, the sky is brilliant!

Eric, I see there is a curve, but they aren't vertical, they look to be a couple degrees out, and to me, they are the subject so should be straight.

Mick, ok I see what you mean now. Yeah, they might be off perfect vertical, but when seeing them from above it will do that a little. There is also some wind involved with the water when it flies up 20 to 40 feet. I guess I could try to tweak it a little, but I think from the perspective of the shot it should be ok. If I were shooting this head on directly in front of the building it would bother me a little more. Thanks for the feedback.

Re: Fountain

As I see it:

Don't change the tilt....It's the POV ,that's responsible for it.

Roger, Agreed. It is still pretty straight all things considered.
