Selling Of The Artwork Is Not That Easy!!!

Everyone here at FAA wants to sell his artwork at good price and most of them are very-2 good artists. Their works are quite praiseworthy, but the artworks of most of them are sold very occasionally. Is their any trade secret to sell ones artwork?

choose the ones that fit.

selling art is not easy - that's why fine art isn't a great field. you have to have work people want on their walls. and while you have nice stuff, your style is kind of random, and rather ethnic. while people from you country may be interested in those things, unless they have money for art, it will just sit. you need a more universal art. stuff you would hang on your own walls. there really is no secret other than hard work, figuring out what people like, and advertising. along with a good presentation of the work itself. many of your things have dark corners.

Stick with it Tanmay :) Looking at your older and then new images, it is plain to see you are improving your art. Love the Indian villages, very tranquil, but also like your take on the topical issues like the Delhi rape.

Get your name out there as much as you can, via social media is good....Twitter, Instagram, FB, use them all to (gently) advertise yourself but don't forget to have fun as well because your audience might get bored if you only advertise.

I agree with Mike Savad that more universal themes/ subject have more potential to sell......well more universally......but saying that, if Indian scenes are close to your heart and you are good at them, be careful not to force yourself to do something you do not enjoy so much. You could loose the joy you find in creating your art.
And you never know where will your sales take you.

But stretching yourself a little and trying other stuff is always good too.....very good luck to you Tanmay in your future sales!

selling art is easy as long as it is original and low priced. selling art for a high price is what's hard.
selling prints at a low price with a small margin require frequent sales. the competition is outrageous anymore.
pursue that science/ engineering desire you have and live life. build a reputation overtime with your art. you will find that as you mature, so does your art and your clients.

i found it was easier to sell it at a higher price actually.

but in any case it depends who your audience is, and how you find them. there are many hospitals in india, and they should have some money and your work would fit in that area - if the image can be printed at all (scan your work). in the US however, i think it's rather limited.
