To Those Who Have Sold Pillows

I sold 2 pillows with the Doors of Lambertville on them. What I need to know before I go into complete panic is: Is the image shown in my sales an accurate depiction of what was purchased? The reason I ask is that the poster would not fit on the pillow without sizing it. The image shows it as being chopped/squared off so it would look pretty horrible. I know the person more than likely ordered it from a Facebook post so should I reach out to them to be sure they sized the image within the pillow dimensions? (that is how I showed it on the page, by the way-fitted properly)

I have not sold a pillow but I am sure that I have read that the image shown in your sales is an accurate depiction of what was purchased.

Dammit. Maybe I should reach out.

Louise,
My husband ordered one as a Christmas present. He adjusted the slider to cover the pillow....or he thought. When it arrived there was a white strip at the top and bottom seams (picture online showed the image covering the entire pillow). He was not that happy with the way it turned out. Luckily, the lady who received it was thrilled because she had loved the image itself.

It wouldn't hurt to ask the buyer if they are happy with the pillow, especially if it will put your mind at ease.

They just ordered it this week and the image on the sales shows it as not having been adjusted with the slider. I should think the buyer saw it that way and adjusted it and maybe it doesn't show as being adjusted on my sales list. I did leave a message on the town page that whoever purchased it ( I have no idea who) please message me.

This is how it was promoted:

But that is not what I'm seeing.

We know enough to move the slider around to get the look we want, but I'm not sure it's that obvious to the public. I've been wondering why there is no blurb on the page explaining how the image can be re-positioned.

This is how it looks on the sales notice:

Louise,
That is a beautiful image! I hope you get some peace of mind about this in some way. Please keep us posted!

Louise, they would've had to slide the image larger to get this look, which I know may bother you but may be exactly what they liked. If they were going to fill up the space with just the doors though, I would've increased it a little more to lose the border. It really looks fine that way. Only if you know exactly who ordered it, would I worry about it...but I wouldn't worry about it.

I like it that way, Louise. I think the little bit of black and white lines down the sides breaks it up a bit. As Melissa said, I wouldn't worry about it, either.

if they liked it that way, they might have wanted it that way. i've had people on Z reduce the size. it introduces a stripe and since i think the default is a white background, i can only assume they modified it like that.

How you see it is how they got it. I kind of like it.

I know the one I sold was cut off in a very odd way but they didn't return it....

I guess I'm panicking because it's a specific style of poster. Melissa, that's how it comes up before adjusting when I click on pillows.

Another thing I just noticed is that a pillow sale doesn't appear on my activity page. I found out by email which is inconsistent (my last 2 or 3 sales got no emails)

I sold five of my images (florals) on pillow covers. The person who bought them knows me and it was a nice surprise and very supportive of her to do so. However, the images on the site, take a look if you want to, are, I think, quite vibrant (like my artwork). The images printed on the pillow covers was very subdued, or greyed out. They did look really nice, but definitely a great leap in colour vibrancy from what is shown on the site. She really loves them, which is wonderful. I took a look at them, opened the zippers, looked at how they are made. They are quality products however, there must be something amiss with the colour attaching to the cloth in the print process. The overall look of the cover reminds me of cushion covers on outdoor furniture and yes, it does look good, too. The issue is what it looks like on the site versus what you actually buy. Anyone care to comment...

Louise - It happens to look very attractive that way. The B & W strip down the side mimics one of the doors on the top 2nd row, & appeases the eye for balance & symmetry.

Perhaps it is one of the owners of the doors that wanted theirs centered a certain way.
Looks damn good.

Thanks, Janine. Now, after reading Heather's post, I guess I will have to wait and see what happens with the sale. The poster prints slightly dark but very colorful at the lab I use. It's sort of a negative of selling online that we don't have control of nor can we instruct on the printing of a piece.

Louise, look behind the scenes at your sales. I think you just have to let go and trust the buyer.

Louise, I had to slide the bar to get the pillow view like the sold pillow view you are showing. Default view I see shows more border and your signature.

I ordered a few pillows - yes, they are exactly as the images show in the sales tab.

Melissa: I guess then that is how they wanted them to be. Sure hope they like it!

Having products that can be cropped by anyone other than yourself can be stressful because part of you wants to go ...."NO! That's not how that's supposed to work! What are you doing with my stuffffffffff!" lol

I wouldn't worry about it people will see the slider and adjust it to their liking, everyone is different and your vision may be adjusted a little.

I wouldn't sweat it. f they don't like it presumably they'll use the 30-day guarantee to return it.
