Aol More Hincky Than Usual,lately

Hello to All!

Any "A-OLD" users having issues lately,30-60 days with their AOL browser? Getting a lot of "Whoops", "Not Responding" and the dreaded "swirling blue circle! I'm on Win7,64 bit and AOL 9.7 This is on both the laptop and desktop,
Thanks,
Rich

I didn't know AOL still existed. Wow. Was there ever a time it wasn't "hinky"?

Surely you don't launch aol to web browse? I still connect often via Chome and check my email plus some of the news. And no I am not going to give up my aol account, but I also maintain a Gmail address, which I use for professional use. For social use i just use FB.

Rich, you might want to hop on ICQ or mIRC to see if anyone there can help.

JCH,

Thanks I'll drive over to the ICQ or mIRC store later, do you have their phone number?

What the hell is an ICQ by the way...........

I am like so 1949!!! LOL!

Does AOL still say " You've Got Mail ! " ..... whenever I think of that it reminds me of the movie. You know, that one with Meg Ryan.

LOL!!

Poor Rich ... move over, I'm sitting here in the boat right beside you. Everybody on here sounds like my son, wanting me to update. Maybe that's why I refuse ... passive aggressiveness is such a nice, ladylike weapon, lol.

I only use AOL for mail .. had the same email addresses since ... well .. we won't go there. But I have to say, other than duplicate notices from FaceBook comments for the past couple of weeks, and it tends to not want to let me skip easily from address to address, I haven't really had any problems.

I don't use AOL for browsing ... I'm either on Safari or FireFox. Oh, and I'm on a Mac.

... and yes, Frank, it does still say "You've Got Mail."

Lois,

Sad as it seems,I'm sure Ive been on AOL longer than anyone here! I first joined when you had to PAY FOR IT!!! Yikes!

So what's the general concensus for a Windows computer? What browser is best? I've got Chrome, but never use it,

Rich, I think both my son and my husband use Chrome ... they're both on Macs too ... but they think it's the bees knees.

Wait, what? Bees knees????

I read something icky about it last night, something about added creep-ware coming along for the ride, but it was late and I was half asleep and it could have been troll-talk. I'll be interested to hear what everyone else has to say.

And yes sir I DO remember paying for AOL!!!!

My son just updated to Mail.com ...... says it's like AOL but more savvy. .... he now misses " You've Got Mail " though didn't think he would.

I'm on Chrome now and it seems to be working betterer. And I just noticed that there seems to be a spel chek on Chrome! Pretty neato!(Lois). Now if I can get my Favorites over from AOL to here, things would be great.......
