It's been awhile since I made a new time-lapse video, but because the file sizes that I work with in Photoshop are so huge (last one was 12GB!) I haven't been able to run both the screen capture software and PS at the same time without one or the other crashing. So, rather than making a time-lapse video, I made a layer-by-layer video instead using my latest digital painting:
Enjoy!

Jack, not video. Some of my digital paintings are done on very large canvas sizes (60 inches on the long side), and at high resolution. Add a hundred or more layers at those dimensions and it adds up fast.

Thanks so much, Kelley! I think I may go back and do more of this kind with some of my past works, but I'm still determined to do more time-lapse videos too. Stay tuned!
Thank you, Phyllis!

What was the underlying music?

Very Nice April! If you figure out how to do the record larger files without them lagging or crashing please, please let me know! I can't seem to do anything over 700 pixels.

I love your videos and the music is cool too. Holw do you make your videos? I need to some, but I don't think it is the same process for paintings off the computer..

Why, thank you, Parker! :)
Jani, I use Camtasia for my videos. Love it! Yeah, it's probably harder to do time-lapse videos of traditional paintings, but I've seen it done. Or you could set a camera up on a tripod and take progress pics every few minutes if you have the space. That would be cool.
Thanks, Lisa!

Wow, Congratulations April, that was extremely impressive and you could not have selected a sound track more suitable for your video. Excellent!!!!! I need to get with the program and create a video. I did attempt one which I did not launch took me thousands of hours and nearly a year to create only to find out the server I was using does accept links directly to Fine Art America and that was such a low blow to find out. I was informed I would have to re-create using a newer format....When I had completed my video and actually saw what I was all about as a photographer I cried in pubic at the coffee shop because I was astonished at my accomplishment and my idea of what I want to portray with my web page became a reality. I wanted something which would give the viewer inter action yet be so dramatic it would keep there interest. Mind you I do have minor things to correct but have not bothered correcting because I am unable to put the link and bring everyone to Fine Art America.
Cheers Michael Hoard Actor, Artist, Photographer.

Michael, how frustrating! You might be able to convert it to a newer format rather than remaking the whole thing. What kind of video editing software do you have?
Jennifer and Deb, thanks so much!

Glad to hear that, Gregory! Will you be making a video of your own?

Hello April, a few years back while at a coffee shop and I had just started the idea of selling my photography and having a plan to get established another photographer from the UK who frequented the coffee shop it was him who introduced me to Fine Art America and also Wix.com. Because I wanted to do something totally and put together a web site like none other like you and everyone. We all want to make the best there is for a lasting impression which helps to promote who you are as an artist and photographer. I worked on it for just about a year. Some nights I would just get an hours sleep and go to work. Reason being, I am not totally privy to everything about the technical aspects of computers or applications. And when it came time to tie the links I did speak with Wix.com in person over the phone they had informed me in order to do that I would have to use a totally different web application. So I purchased the domain name etc. thru Go Daddy and I never shown it publicly. I could manually insert the hyper link info. But is anyone really going to copy and paste that into their browser. It just sits there idle.
It was a good friend who begged me please Michael what in the hell are you waiting for do something with your photography. It took a bit of planning to get the idea, the whole package and launch my own business. The brand and concept because of formal experience in advertising all fell into place. When I viewed the final web page for the first time I happed to be at the coffee shop and started to cry in public. Other patrons came over to find out what was wrong to console me. I told them I completed my web page but viewing it brought tears seeing my life as a professional photographer and my accomplishments in motion was on the verge of some amazing events all because of a business web page. They had no clue my tears were because of my race for time, time was running out. The were happy tears and those can be good. That was then and this is now, I keep moving along. After viewing your video has sparked a new interest now in mine and get it up and running and visible.
As I watched your video a few times, I did notice as the music plays the actually shading is synced to the music. Because I have no clue what so ever producing a video the only difference photos will appear and fade.
Wow, I just viewing the 2nd video Tranquility, I sat in awe, now did she do that. Did you have a video camera on you while you were actually working on the piece. Can the very same thing be done with photographs? Or is the application recording the actual development of the piece
