Darkness settles in the skies as the last light shimmers behind this sleepy forest. The maiden glow of Bridalveil peeks through silhouettes of timeless trees with a powerful rumble that disappears into the calm night air. It is in this darkness where she will finally unveil the secrets hidden behind her veil, when neither man nor beast can judge her purity, and she can once again become naked to this night as she has done for an eternity.
A collections of images of Horsetail Falls in Yosemite National Park. Horsetail falls, which flows down the face of El Capitan, is not a year-round waterfall. It only flows when there is sufficient snow pack on the top of the granite. The images below were taken during a short window of time when the setting sun is in just the right relative position to light up the falls AND when there are clear enough skies that the sun's rays reach the water descending down the face of the granite.
Yosemite Falls can be seen from all over the valley as well as from many vista points as one hikes the trails in Yosemite National Park. Whether in the greenery of spring and summer or the dead of winter when there is snow on the ground it is always a spectacular waterfall to behold.
Nevada Falls as seen from the John Muir Trail with Painter's Brush in the foreground and looking down the falls from the lookout right at the top.
The picturesque Half Dom in Yosemite National Park shows just how steep the granite is throughout the walls of the valley.
A view of El Capitan as seen from a vista point along the Merced River in Yosemite National Park.
