Hi, I am completely new in this. I have just found prints of world famous artists being sold by a member here. So my question is - how can it be that somebody can sell their own work along with famous names? They probably must have some copyright rights, right?
Are you speaking of "living" artists - ones that you know? or works of other artists without their permission. Anybody that's been dead over 70 years appears to be fair game - whether you make 'adjustments' to it or not. To sell another artists work - I don't know if you need to sign in as a gallery - or simply sign in as an artist and have a gallery of the other artists work. They'll have to trust that when you sell their work - you'll pay them or give them their cut - because you will be paid through paypal.
Yes, artists dead long ago. Well, I didn't know that it is possible. In such case it seems to me more a business of art selling and not being an artist. Just thinking. I don' t know much about the business side of art...
Yes, that particular genre is all about selling, not about being an artist. It represents a healthy chunk of sales, though. Old patent drawings is another biggie. If someone wants it, someone will sell it.
