Two Strongest

In your art what are your strongest traits? I said two strongest just to encourage you to take a look at your work and be selective. I feel my strongest traits are imagination and paint application. Your turn!

I suppose my two are attention to detail and color.

Robert imagination jumps right out at me when viewing your creative paintings as to paint application I am not qualified to say, but I'm sure it is a strong trait. For me In my sculptures I would say conveying movement and emotion are the strongest trait, at least that's what I want them to do.

- Blending
- My determination.......I often seem to be underestimated ......I use it to my advantage later. I love a good challenge and it's even better when someone tells me I can't. Because I can and I will ......

Pride - most of my photographs are of my hometown. I am very proud of its significance in U.S. history, its beauty and hope that is evident through my images.

Color - the more vibrant, the better. I zero right in on that.

Imagination

The ability to salvage a painting that looks like it may be doomed for the trash can.

Tenacity and endurance. Otherwise, I would be no artist at all.

Well I'm the never say die type too, but not sure on this as hard to separate how much is bullheaded and how much is intelligence or creativity - lol. Artistically, I'd say composition is a big part of my art. That and I paint with toothpicks, so patient.

I think the strongest trait I've acquired through art is appreciation. Not just in scope, but the process of appreciation. A lot of us have mentioned patience, endurance, perseverance and I've grown to love that process in the appreciation of art (especially other peoples art). If you combine appreciation with patience it's amazing. There's so much more to see than a first impression. It is so comfortable with just letting it come in it own and over time. When I was young and would have to critique work it was much more pressure to instantly form an opinion and therefore academic. Or if you're in school and have to instantly critique. Your appreciation was very hurried. Not a high priority to just let the art soak.

And I see this 'stop and smell the roses' characteristic in my whole demeanor.

Then again, maybe I'm just getting old and don't like to (ok, am difficult to) be hurried. Moving along now.

an Absurdist point of view

The ability to think although sometimes the wrong answers are found.

(if anyone of us becomes a truly famous artist just think these words may be what you're quoited as to have said about your work. Salvador Dali is quoted with "I don't do drugs I am drug's" but who know's if he knew that would be recorded and said about him in the future. Or histories recorded 1000s of other quotes. Did all the people know there word's would live on. Think about it (I mean he said it when he was famous but still did he know it would be said in the year 2015 on fine art america in a forum decision .Then again he probably did as he was a big egomaniac. )
