Like many other states, we are currently going through a deep freeze. So I'm concentrating on ice at the moment.

Dawn/sunrise this morning, in rural Colorado, Barr Lake State Park

I saw my first pygmy owl on my hike the other morning. He was quite patient with me while I took his portrait.

Plenty of color in most of my recent uploads though there was a black and white in the mix, too. You have here some of those sweet mini peppers that are so tasty by themselves, in salads, or stir fried; a square cropped sunset from White Sands, New Mexico; and a very fun and colorful hot air balloon from the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque.

A little Wyoming fall color along the Popo Agie River. It had been storming but the morning sun broke through long enough to light the trees along the river.


Here is a snowy egret fishing along the shore in the Bear River National Wildlife Refuge north of Salt Lake City.

Judy, I like the heron photo. I think it's a juvenile because of the feathers but I can't decide if it's a juvenile green heron, yellow-crowned night heron, or? Do you know?
