I noticed that too. I suspect it was an oversight.

The post is put in often when a post is deleted so that, if the member comes back they, and anyone else who saw it, will see why the post was deleted.

That will not change.

FYI, I had a post deleted and contacted the moderator to explain where I was coming from and it was reinstated. For the most part I have found the moderators to be pretty good on this site!

Thank you, Ronald! I have seen a lot worse on other sites. I even got banned from a site once ;)

Basically the dude went through and spammed every thread with a "Come buy my stuff here" comment and link. He got a timeout but I saw no reason to leave the link active.

Robert, I have directed Abbie to send you my entire Moderator paycheck for this week as punishment.

I thought for sure that this thread had the markings of a DISCUSSION CLOSED or an outright delete. As you have probably figured out by now, my conservative-ometer is set on low, which sets me up for risks like this most of the time.
