Throw Pillow Sales?

My wife wants to purchase alot of my art in pillows for the various rooms in the house and as gifts... I sometimes think/wonder if FAA was not only designed for artisit to purchase thier own work? If so, then FAA has managed to capture hundreds of thousands of not only artist...but customers.

My husband purchased one as a gift. I was going to purchase several more for our home but didn't like the quality versus price.

None sold yet! Think will buy a couple of my own......like to see how well they are done and I NEED a pillow! :)

No but, I have bought 4 and gave 3 out as presents. They are gorgeous and GREAT gifts.

I was thinking of a big push for Valentines, but I do not have much if anything that would Valentines related.

Mothers Day, I think may be good.... I am more and more seeing them as better gift items then every day sales items. I don't know why.

Kathy K. I agree a bit pricey. But don't forget the value to the buyers (other then yourself) is the custom images they can have done. Not sure you can compare a mass produced department store or even a high end home furnishing store's pillows to the custom, one at a time pillow.

I was talking to a neighbour about them and to us they are very reasonably priced. These are way better than department store cushions which cost more here. The postage is a good price too. No complaints at all here

So far, no sales on throw pillows...

I just got another one of my pillows yesterday and it's too beautiful to give away. There were about ten that I gave as add on gifts. The price is excellent, there is no doubt about that! Of the pillows that I liked, the colors were an intense blue, wine, and purple in hue.

One so far, within 24 hours of signing up for them and then nothing since,

I sold one within a day or two of them launching/displaying on FAA - it was due to someone seeing me talk about it on Facebook.

Sold four more to a relative, who bought them as Christmas gifts for various people; through that, I got a fair amount of Facebook interest, due to people posting pics of the pillows. A lot of positive feedback due to that, and interest, but no other buyers yet. The seed is there, though... over time some other purchases may roll in. I am hopeful!!!!

Interesting about the intensity of the colours, Lisa........I chose mine and loved the intensity because the pillow is small enough to give a big statement, a nice thing to have happen.........the mauves/greens, look gorgeous. Mine arrived safely but for customs slashing the wrap but missing the pl.bag/pillow inside......looking for what? I didn't send myself the insert....easy enough to get here, and better postage.........They're so nice as artwork/pillows compared to boring pillows !!

Lots of people tell me they are going to buy some, but none of them have. Time will tell.

I purchased one of a custom piece I did as a gift and they were so happy with it that it became the pillow that is just for looks and not for actual use in their home.

Funnily enough I have sold several elsewhere but not here yet. The only thing with marketing is that 'throw pillows' is not a phrase recognised so much in UK and Italy (and maybe rest of Europe? Not sure about that I can only speak for the two countries I know in depth). We call them 'cushions' - so all my marketing has to say throw pillows/cushions. I had someone asking me why the 'pillow' was the wrong shape for 'pillow cases' - she was referring to the 'pillows' we sleep on at night. Just to confuse things the Italian word cuscino (cushino) is used for both pillow and cushion! Aaaagh! Re price by the way, I agree with Abbie compared to prices in UK and Italy they are very reasonable. Of course you can get cushions (sorry, throw pillows) in the markets here in Italy for 5 euros but they are mass produced and not well made, and those in the department stores are only slightly better and cost a lot more.

Dorothy, I CANNOT call them pillows... pillows are what I sleep on at night lol... these are cushions and I really think they should have that name somewhere on the site as that is what we know them as. My countrymen will be very disappointed if looking for pillows only to find cushions

Abbie, I agree, it is awful marketing for us - not to mention using up your twitter space putting throw pillows/cushions each time!

My mother bought two as gifts for family ....! ^_^ they are the only products on FAA that a french can handle the shipping, even a poster is 18 euros to pay for shipping (from UK )...needless to say I can't afford buying my own products on FAA !!
Cushions are really beautiful with my latest creations on it...LOve, love them ! ^_^

seems the average is 2 pillows when they first came out. odd...or rather even.

maybe once they all come back from where ever the sales of those and others will pick up. my store is a ghost town right now.
