Any Exciting New Year's Eve Plans?

Years ago when I used to go out on new years eve something bad would always happen so one year I decided that was it ...I would babysit for my friends kids...took them all to a roller skating party at a local rink...great idea...after 15 minutes of fun one of the kids fell and shattered their wrist...spent the rest of the night in the ER with all the kids. yeah that was fun...a bunch of angry 8 year olds! Haven't left my house on the eve since. Not that I am superstitious but No way I go out.

Probably going to bed early since I have to be to work at 7:00 on NYD.

I'd rather go to bed but typically I get goated into staying up and then the rest of them all fall asleep.

work on designs, eat marshmallows, maybe hot dog blanket things... weeeee.

though according to accuweather long term, they show an ice storm for that day, so who knows.

Just hang out with my friends late at night.

No drinks, at least not for most of us.

No family, we dont do that together. Perhaps a call
to my parents before 10 PM.

Sharon, if I lived in Tucson, I'd join you, at least during the daytime! I have to stay home and baby my dog, who is terrified of fireworks. I almost moved to Tucson a few years ago. Nice town.

Val, what a story! Sorry that happened. I'm envisioning a bunch of "angry 8 year olds," lol.

I will be working a graveyard shift at the hospital for New Years. Time and a half pay woohoo!

We're planning to do some night shooting in Boston on the 30th so depending on how tired I'll be, I may do first night too.

We will be standing on the terrace of our Italian home watching the fireworks in the valley - we can see 26 miles in any direction so the views are fabulous. Big tradition in Italy of families setting off fireworks at midnight and we have the best seat in town.

Yes - it's called sleep.

I'd love to go shoot the fireworks as I found a nice place after last years NYE. But I go to work early on NYD, so I will probably be asleep by 11 p.

Haven't decided if I am going to watch the pelican drop on P-Cola Beach OR the Moon Pie drop in Mobile AL. (Yes, the Moon Pie drop is a REAL thing)

i always go to the ocean and take a long walk along the shore either on new year's eve or new year's day - depending on the weather.

The Key West Drag Queen drop looks like a hoot.

As a kid I lived in a small town outside of Heidelberg, Germany and New Year's Eve was like World War III - crazy amount of fireworks in this normally sleepy farm villiage.

We'll be flying back to Wisconsin from Australia. Leave at about 7am on the 31, get to Chicago about 3.15pm, then bus to madison. Then bed. Hopefully we'll have some baggage. Our baggage got left at LAX; I believe it's in Sydney now, but we're 4 hrs south of there.

Staying home as usual. I got all of the rebel-rousing partying out of my system a long time ago. Y'all have fun, and watch out for the drunken idiots occupying the streets and highways.

If they manage to find a sponsor for Fireworks here in Houston I'll try and photograph that. If not, Who knows. Many State Parks here in Texas have New Year's Day hikes, I'm planning to attend the one at Brazos Bend.

If this New Year's Eve is anything like last year's, the family will be out somewhere, I will go to bed early, then around midnight, when the fireworks go off, our dog Katie will be leaping into my bed and cuddling up as close as she can.

She simply HATES explosions and loud noises of any kind.

Unlike Edward's experience in Germany, when I was in Paris in the early 50s, I thought that New Year's Eve would be an experience to remember forever.

Low and behold, it was totally dead. No fireworks, no celebrations.... nothing!

In fact, the bars closed early so that workers could go home to their families.
