Been Missing Your Faa Emails?

Me too . . . sometimes.

Over the last month or so, I've stopped receiving sales notices, some weekly updates, and some emails sent to me through the FAA email system to my offsite (Gmail) inbox.

Purely by coincidence, I just went looking for something in my spam folder . . . and found what appears to be ALL the missing emails in there -- including my sales notices and two buyer's requests! I've continued to receive some FAA email, as usual, and have no idea why only certain items are suddenly detouring to my spam.

Check your spam folders, peeps! I rarely have in the past, unless I suspected something had gone missing. Lesson learned!

i've given up hope. there is something in the system that is holding them. they are not being trapped in a spam filter. every 2wks or so i will get a flood of back mail, though rarely the sales notes. though i haven't checked it this time around, last time i didn't even get mail from outside people. lately i get 1 in every 50 mails or so. i've been to comcast, checked their stuff. it just unclogs itself. i wonder if there is another way to get the mail. now that the site has a name server, couldn't we just change the name of the site for mail purposes?

It's a troubling situation, Mike.

One of my 'found' messages is from a local potential client who's doing some Christmas shopping. Those are NOT the kind of messages I want to miss! I can go Behind The Scenes to check for sales, but missing communication from potential buyers is a reindeer of a different color!

We have told you several times mike. You are with Comcast. They block our mails. Every week. And every week we have to get them unblocked. Some get through, some don't. Some they release, some they don't. Aol and Comcast are the two worst for it

Their is also an issue with gmail if you have the new preview tab feature ... I don't have gmail but my campaigns are not reaching the inbox of gmail .... google updated how it reads the tags from email marketing and either throws it in preview or spam. Make sure you hit "Not Spam" for those emails Wendy mentioned, and if in your Preview tab set it to go to your inbox ( if that is what you want ) .

I get the weekly update but I don't get sales announcements. I also got the email about the phone cases being available.

Well that Comcast thing is weird. I get all my FAA mail and I have Comcast. I wonder if it's just certain Comcast servers that are the problem. But then, I'm internet ignorant when it comes to any of the tech stuff.

and i know you said that. and yet i do get some mail here. and then i get it all in one big clump. comcast isn't blocking anything at all. i'll get stuff from weeks ago. right now i got your message in my box. it wouldn't make sense if only some was blocked. if comcast was holding it, it would be in a spam box. but i've checked over and over and there is nothing in there. i really can't explain it and just learned to live with it. its almost as if there is a holding bin on this side where its sent, and every now and then the gate is opened and it all comes out. i really don't know what to say.

i would complain to comcast but they don't have an active email, i was ready to contact the president there until i found something in a forum.

aol i can understand, they just erase incoming stuff.

I'm not sure what or where the problem is. For now, I've 'Not Spam'ed all the messages, responded to the critical ones, and will just make a point of checking my spam on a daily basis. I'm not on AOL or ComCast, and haven't had the problem until very recently.

Maybe, as Frank suggested, it's because of a Google/Gmail change. I'll keep an eye on it; I just wanted to remind people to check their spam folders -- in case they're like me . . . and usually don't.

Abbie,

I have sbcglobal.net It is part of Yahoo. I have far less mail than Mike et al.

But would Microsoft's Hotmail be better for them?

Hi All,

I have found that making FAA a contact in my email address book solves the problem. I put FAA as a contact with the email: donotreply- at - fineartamerica.com and I now get all sales and other email notices directly to my inbox. This has worked for my Aol and Comcast email.

Try it. I hope it works for you as well.

Wendy: You should create a GMail filter so that anything from a fineartamerica.com e-mail address isn't flagged as spam. Go to Settings -> Filters, at the bottom click 'Create New Filter', in the From box type 'fineartamerica.com' (no quotes), click 'Create Filter from this search', in the next window click 'Never send to spam', then click 'Create Filter'. Now any e-mail from fineartamerica.com will always end up in your inbox.

@Laura and Alexis --

Thanks for the advice, guys, but of course I did all those things from the very beginning of my time here. (I'm a semi-ex-hardware/software tech and OS/Internet trainer.) The problem began just within the last six weeks or so -- before that, I was never aware of missing even a Weekly Update, and I've always received sales notices. I still receive a lot of my FAA mail, as usual -- just not all of it, as before.

If it's still hinky after the holidays, I'll take a closer look. Right now, I have to go . . . make pillows! ;-)

Thank you kindly for taking time to join the discussion.

@Lois -- Lunch is on you!

Wendy: Double-check the filter -- if you've done it correctly GMail will *never* send an FAA e-mail to Spam. If it does, the filter isn't set up correctly (or you have multiple competing filters) :)

Hmmm -- maybe, Alexis.

I can't find the error(s), I haven't changed or added filters since I opened my Gmail account (more than a year ago), and it's worked seamlessly until very recently.

Given all that, it sounds like this might take more than the two hours I spent on it this evening, so will have to wait a bit. Right now, it's faster to check my spam than to spend a day tracking this down. It will wait, and I can be patient; despite what my friends and family may tell you! :-)
