Suburban Primitive Manifesto #5

The brain will seek to "normalize" an image based on prior experiences. A work which has been "normalized" will no longer create the brain stretch. The term "normalized" is being used to indicate that the work no longer has the ability to surprise or shock the viewer into thought. The viewer feels comfortable with the image and no longer pays more than casual attention to the work.

Ronald,

Please put all your 'manifestos' in one thread

Would but takes forever to type. easier to digest and view one at a time as well. Only five to go and they will be spread out over the next two weeks. I will put them all on the Suburban Primitive art groups site in about three weeks.

I was about to start posting each of my sentences to a new, separate thread.

What, no good?

Ten points not sentences, the points build on each other or so I hope, one manifesto. As I said easier to read and think about one at a time. If not check out the Suburban Primitive Art site in a few weeks.
