Crocheted Blankets/hats For Homeless Childern

Hello everyone my name is Connie Valasco and I have been on FAA from 2010. Watercolor is my medium but for six months now have taken a break to crocheted blankets and hats for the homes childern. So far I have made 400 baby blankets with hats to match. Nth thing is I mostly pay for the yarn myself. Please consider helping out these childern who otherwise would not have a warm blanket for winter. Yarn is not to bad I can make a blanket and hat for around ten dollars. Anything would help. I have a campaign on give forward. This is under Crocheted blanket/hat for childern homeless. You can donat there . Thank you for taking the time to read this and happy turkey day! Heather has been kind enough to post the link and as soon as give forward gives me the shortened url I will post. After turkey day.

Connie - that's awesome, I used to do that in college.
Don't put your email in a public forum though - you're asking for spammers/scammers to scrape it. People can message you via the internal system, don't need your email.
Put the link to your campaign website.

My Mom has been doing that for many years. I have no idea how many thousands of quilts she has sewn, knit, and crocheted. She belongs to a group called "Quilt For Others." I think most of their quilts go to AIDS patients. Then, she took up crocheting beanies and lap quilts for cancer patients. She feels like she doesn't contribute much, because she has not worked outside her home a lot...but, I think there are thousands of people who would beg to differ!!
That's a great thing you are doing, Connie!!

Bless you Connie ! What a wonderful and thoughtful person you are! I will visit the website. I have friends whom knit and crochet hats for cancer patients and sweaters for penguins. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

That's great, Connie! I used to do that, too, but I ended up switching to fleece. It's quicker to make and is more compact to roll up. But I still crochet mats for the homeless using plastic grocery bags. They don't take them at the homeless shelter in my neck of the woods (too rainy; they mildew), so I send them to shelters in California, Nevada, and Arizona.

How did you get involved in this? My girlfriend crochets and she might want to do this locally. Did you just contact your local shelter?
