Image Game That Is Not A Dump Thread

Bees !!! Don't like them at all!! Actually allergic to them ! Yellow jackets scare me more than anything but this photo by Paul has me looking at them in a new light. They are very unique distinct creatures as shown on this photo Buzz by Paul Freidlund. Don't think I will be able to ever get a bee photo because I don't plan on getting close to one.

I'm not a big fan of heights. I can't walk down stairways with no railing. I can't get close to the edge of an overlook with no railing.

This is a cool image with the shadow of the tower. Makes me a little nervous too!....

the thought of caving creeps me out. It still creeps me out but I love this photo.

I never liked turtles but a closer look into the innocent eyes of this one from Jane's portfolio evoked some 'warm feelings' for the creature!

My family discouraged me to put up this one in my portfolio as they thought it to be dark and depressing! Not agreed. I created this one after listening to the heart rending story from my son about his fellow IIT- an who screwed up his promising career due to bad addictions'

I love colour, so a black and white or monochrome image has to speak really strongly to me before I notice it. This is from my favourites, so quiet and still, yet it has a poignancy which grabs me.

Being in dark murky water, unable to see what's swimming under or around me freaks me out.

OH this one jumped to mind immediately. Yikes thunder and lightening!

I really can't stand olives. They just taste weird. Nice to look at in this image though!

I'll admit it. I am NOT a fan of football. I'm sorry, but it just bores me to tears. Same old, same old, year after year after year after year. After year. The sounds of the announcers in the other room droning on and on, hour after hour, year after year. Yawn.

So after I read Marlene's idea for the thread I got to thinking about things that I don't like and finding images that might make me appreciate them more. When I got back home and started looking around here on FAA it didn't take long for me to totally see an amazing beauty that would otherwise have completely eluded me.

To Joel Witmeyer ... I've been an admirer of this particular image for some time without actually realizing it was of a football stadium. Just lovely!!

I'm not a fan of slimy little slugs and snails, but I am a fan of Eric Fan, and this piece just makes me smile.

Julie McDoniel's portfolio is filled with things that I dislike - gremlins and reptiles and skeletons and monsters of all sorts. Yet every time I see one of her pieces I am attracted to it immediately. The bright colors and childlike approach help, of course, but once I'm there it's a fascination with the detail and most of all the quirky imaginative twists that hold me. And I find myself, quite inexplicably, wanting to hug a goblin so to speak. If you've taken the time to read this, please don't just scroll on by; take a closer look at this gal's relatively small but delightful portfolio and, if you are as charmed as I always am, leave a comment or two. (And no, I don't know her :), but I do think she's just waiting to be "found" by Sean and his crew LOL)

I'm not a fan of vultures. Even their babies are ugly, but this one is awesome.

This is something for sure I will never do !!!!!!!! (Might get 'dumped',hahahaha)..............

I do not like guns for pretty obvious reasons, but this text gun by Michael Tompsett is very skilfully done

I'm a country girl at heart, and I much prefer an old dirt road over a city street any day. This painting, however, is one I'd proudly hang in my home. It's such a gorgeous rendition of San Francisco...

Snakes ! Creepy Crawly Snakes ! Too many slither and live on Deal Island. I know that they are not all poisoned and the experts claim they are more scared of me than I am of the snakes! I don't think the experts have had the opportunity of experiencing a snake encounter with me! LOL

This was found in her lounge room... So inside the house I am guessing ! Better Holly than me !

FYI - when I moved to the island the Department of Natural Resources in Maryland politely informs me that it is against the law to kill any snake in Maryland! Just thinking about it makes me want to move to a different state. Just Saying : )

Growing up in the swamps of southern Louisiana, alligators were among my biggest fear! YIKES! But Lane does manage to make this gruesome creature seem almost peaceful.(Probably stalking its lunch!)

Debra....we have pack rats in our neck of the woods that do the same..dishwasher, dryer, washer hoses.... they aren't picky.
I don't mind them outside, but when they come indoors, it is just rude!!

I have the fear/anxiety of great heights - so even though I would not have wanted to be up high to get this fantastic aerial shot I find Sami's photo beautiful and eye-catching.

I hate being stuck in large crowds with no room to move. This image is a cute representation of that.

This is the cutest little mouse! But the real thing scares me to death ! I made my husband go out at 3:00am looking for mouse traps cause I saw one scurry across my kitchen floor while watching movies one night. Needless to say he wasn't not a happy hubby that morning! LOL.

I am a funny person ~ i love to swim and be in the ocean and snorkel and enjoy seeing fish, but i am terrified of deep water and things i can't see below me. This is a very cool art print of deep water fish that i really never want to see up close.

This image in in my very short favorites list.
I don't like pinups on principle, and feel that they dehumanize women in the minds of most men.
I'm also not a fan of the copping (superficial adoption) of "day of the dead" imagery by people who don't have that as a part of their culture.
But Pete Tapang's images stand out, constantly in the sales list, are obviously popular, and the allure is obvious.

I probably favorited this specific image in particular because it may include a hummingbird (cultural symbol of hope in indigenous peoples) in this example. Though looking at it carefully, the wings are wrong. Perhaps a raven. But I digress...

While I "just don't get it", culturally and ideologically, his obvious skills demand a certain (grudging!) admiration.
