Nadine has always painted so prolifically, many times we had no space as large as a 5x7 to hang painting. But never saw one I didnt want her to hang. One reason first was attracted to her, was due to her artwork. Back in those days she focused mainly on seascapes, and sailing ships. Painted a lot of images of the Morgan, a whaler at sea, in varying weather.
Nadine worked for years with me, in my office as a Psychologist. One man saw her paintings, and wanted to see ALL OF THEM. She brought out some we had never hung from a room she used as a studio. He asked, "Is this every one?" She said well have a couple of practice exercises no one would want. He asked to see them. One was a Valley, surrounded with mountains, with three TeePi, along a river. It was all done in Purple and lavender, from highlights to dark shadows without detail. He bought it. You never know peoples taste or what they will like. Promote EVERYTHING, the one thing you may hesitate to promote, someone may like, if YOU like it... Somewhere in the world, there are many who have the same taste in artwork that YOU do...
This image of #BellRock #Vortex is one of my #Favorites, taken at #Sunrise, during the Golden Hour, processed in #Lightroom, then #digitally #painted by Hand, with about ten brushes in Photoshop, to emphasize various centers of interest. IT is one of my top favorites of Bell Rock. Yet, have sold about a dozen different versions which are not my favorites.

April love the "Spruce I" especially your treatment of a subject that is one of my favorites.

I have a very grainy beach scene photo I took with Fuji 200 ISO film pushed to 400,shot in a snow storm and printed direct on Ilfochrome paper. The 11 x 14 print is grainy but it has a wonderful marble texture up close. The scene is somewhat nostalgic to anyone that remembers the old barrier islands along the east coast but also shows the power of the sea. It captivated many at the shows but they all said it was too grainy. I hang it in my bedroom bathroom now. I still love it but it hurts when I get criticism.

I did a pastel of a man with his face partially hidden by a bandana ... His expression was very dark, and it was a touch creepy how his eyes followed you around the room. I had it hung above the tv at one point, and was told to take it down ... lol

Thank you, Bob! (Or is it Nadine? Lol!) I have always loved the architecture of spruce cones, but my husband doesn't see the appeal. He likes most of my other work, but that one is definitely not one of his favorites.

It it is her house, hang it in your room behind the bedroom door so when it is closed, you can enjoy it.

One of my most strongest and emotional photographs I have taken, brings tears to many eyes who see it, I display it proudly in one of my work areas so I can always see it, but it is not a "main" images that others see at first glance nor is readily visible to the general public.
I am proud of that artwork piece and I know it is there and how many react when seeing it, but it isn't "in anyone's face" or meant for shock value.
They can choose to turn their heads if they want and ignore it, or decide to have an adult conversation about it with me.

My family didn't want me to add it to my FAA portfolio. They find it dark and depressing! But, to me it's the most "expressive one"! I created after listening to the story of my son's fellow IIT-ian room mate who spoiled his promising career due to some 'bad addictions'! Here it is for everyone to ponder!

Wow. Some very interesting art here.... Have to give some family members kudos for their perceptions.
I've never ventured into this sphere. But my mother had a clown painting that was hanging in our home that everyone hated. I hate clown paintings to this day. Move over Steven King.

My exterminator came every month to spray the house....every visit, the walls had different paintings hung on them....one month he came by and found 11 raptors hanging..he was SO creeped out and said "You don't really think you are going to sell any of those, do you??"
Thinking back, I painted over most of them ...only one survives in my garage....to scare away burglars! lol

The majority of people viewing my visuals in galleries and shows find it to be crude and sometimes offensive. I have even received threats, But as a superannuated creator, I couldn't give a s---- what people think. After all, I don't create for them.

I once did a life size female torso - above the knees to the neck and armless with all the right bumps in all the right places - wood sculpture - "THAT isn't coming in this house" - It is now in a private collection about 60 miles away and hasn't been used as firewood yet. I did another that she wasn't fond of, it hung in the spare bedroom for a while - then I sent it off to a show in another state - best watercolor in the show and bought by a "family" of some note.

Isabella, I think this is intriguing! The decision to paint over a piece can be a hard one, and it should only be made by you. Thanks for sharing.
