For Admin Re: Sticky Threads?

would it be okay if we had sticky threads? Like, is your work sell-able, suggestions, how to self promote, introduce yourself here etc. I feel like it would be helpful to the new comers to have access to these threads without having to sift through negative comments to get the direction they need. Just a thought.

PS. I just am noticing that we are losing some newbies to unnecessary inhospitable comments.

We've asked for this a hundred times.... we know a proper sticky can be made since Sean does it for the important stuff... answer's always no.

at least if the stick had a red bar or something. nothing more annoying then wondering why its not moving down the list. you get used to seeing it there, and so when it changes, you don't never notice. i know i didn't. it took me a few days to find out it changed the last time.

Perhaps stickies would be too efficient..think about it....a sticky for newbies...first up, always, would answer SO many of the questions asked here over and over again....
I mean, if this forum ran too well, a few people might be outta jobs.....
The answer no that we get repeatedly, isn't about the inability to do it, since it IS done on occasion, as Heather mentioned.....

Even something as simple as the rules list would make perfect sense as a sticky like in every single other forum I've ever been in.... what? you haven't read the rules list?... oh, you didn't know to keyword search "rules" in the discussions?

Having members who were smart enough to know how to use a search function would eliminate a need for stickies too. But when the only qualification to join is finding an internet connection and having a 2mp camera phone....

The rules are clearly linked to in the top of the forum. That's all that Is needed.

judging by all the repetitive questions, that doesn't seem to be the case.
It is always wise to place oneself in the position of the new kid on the block....so many areguilty of assuming it's easy to find or get with a new program.

One thought, there are four tabs at the top. What if a fifth was added for 'Stickies' and newbies were pointed there?

Forum etiquette dictates that one should always look around a forum to see if their question was asked and answered in the past (99% of the time the answer is yes) before asking for shortcuts.

Maybe just a sticky for finding the search box.

We are not having stickies nor new threads. We have a tab already for help. I do need to keep working on the newbies thread but recently haven't had time. I will try and do that soon

How can you miss the search box?

Thanks Abbie. Thank you for working on a newbie thread. I think it would be most helpful.
