Discounts

Does any markup FAA art cards, then discount the shipping charges? How to do this... If a card with a $1 markup is almost the same price as the shipping, then I believe the ART is unfairly compensated! I think artist should receive way more than the cost of shipping & printing. What do others think... How to setup? This is day 18 on FAA for me, I have now broken 1,000 hits on my page... I am thrilled... tho there are ZERO sales.

Day 18 isn't long, it often takes longer.

Simple fix on the cards. Charge more.

I have an 11.50 markup on mine.

i charge $15 for the cards. your not competing against hallmark, they are here to buy your art. the frame the cards anyway.

sales won't come instantly, and even if your advertising it takes time for it to travel. having only one theme in your store will make it tough. not many buy things just for christmas with that theme on it. i've never once sold anything that had just that one holiday on it. you wind up leaving off other important holidays, like festivus.

post more things that aren't santa based.

i am not now, nor have I ever been a big fan of discounting for Christmas.

We are not selling mass produced toys or trinkets.

People are out on the street and on the web and HAVE to spend money for Christmas gifts. No need to discount, imho. I leave that to the discounters like the department stores.

I have also never been a big fan of sales where you jack up the price to pay for the discount. That is disingenuous, imho. But a lot of people do it.

As far 18 days and no sales, you need to read the articles I have on my blog.

The 25 75 Rule For New Artist and Members of FAA
A Few Reasons Y U May Not Be Selling

There are several others that may help you.

Basically, FAA is a marathon, not a sprint.

Here is something I don't think I have ever said before.

Your prices on your greeting cards can stand to be much higher.
